Legendary Voice Actor of Dragon Ball Z “Jose Lavat” Passes Away

Jose Lavat has been a legendary voice actor throughout the years of Dragon Ball Z franchise. He has been the narrator of the series and we have all grown up hearing his voice. Especially, the fans of the series who have been following the Spanish dub will know him very well. He brought life to the Dragon Ball Z Spanish dubbed anime throughout his life.

His fall name was José Francisco Lavat Pacheco. He was born in Mexico City, Mexico. He was born on 23 September 1948. He passed away on 15 May 2019. He was about 69 years of age the moment he passed away. He died in his home city, that is Mexico City, Mexico. His cause of death was revealed to be Renal Failure. He worked as a voice actor for the whole of his life.

The years of his voice acting started from 1967 to 2018. He has worked as a narrator for various Dragon Ball Z shows like Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, Dragon Ball Super. Many of the fans believe the cause of Dragon Ball Z anime gaining so much popularity in Mexico and other Spanish speaking regions was because of his powerful voice acting and that he had so many fans throughout the world.

Some of the other television series, anime and movies that he has worked in include, Silverado as Jake, Lord of the Rings trilogy as Gandalf, Jumanji as Alan, Indiana Jones as Indiana Jones, Death Note as Yagami, Star Wars: The Clone Wars as El Conde Dooku/Darth Tyrannus, Tarzan and Tarzan II as Kerchak, Sol Bianca as Rammy, El Espantatiburones as Don Lino, Hook as Peter Pan, Street Fighter as William F. Guile, etc.

He has been the backbone of Spanish voice acting history and especially Mexico’s icon over the years.
