The South Korean Music industry is nothing short of talents. They have idols that range from being solo working personally and professionally on their own music to almost ten members groups that share an equal impact on everyone. The band members who are put into groups are expected to get along with their teammates without any questions asked. The chemistry is rarely ever checked when making boy bands and girl bands. Becoming a Kpop Idol is a very hard thing to do. There are many rules that are imposed on the idols at the expense of their health, mental, physical, and even emotional. Here, we shall look into KPop Boybands with 6 members.
The Kpop industry has become the biggest facade when it comes to perfection. The idols are expected to work Ungodly hours of the day and are hoped to look perfect and flawless right after. Although the industry has its own drawbacks, becoming a K-pop idol is one of the most common answers to the question “What do you wanna be when you grow up?” The pros of being a Kpop idol overweigh the cons, as long as the band is a successful one. The number of members a boy band can have is obviously not fixed, but the Kpop industry is quite known for having a ridiculous number of members in each band. Here we have put together a list of a few KPop Boybands with 6 members in them.
The popular Kpop boyband with 6 members, Astro, had its debut in 2016 under the company Santiago. The members, Eunwoo, MJ, Jinjin, Moon Bin, Rocky, and Yoon San-ha, were originally known as iTeen Boys and were signed under the rookie talent development program. Astro’s debut album “Spring Up” was released in 2016, and it was a massive hit. The group gained a fandom almost overnight, and within weeks, they ranked #6 at the Billboard World Albums Chart in the US.
They also ranked #4 on the Gaon Music Charts and were the only Kpop act ever to be invited to an entertainment award in China. Astro’s quick fame allowed them to be on the roads of different countries on tour very quickly as well. The band has won multiple awards ever since their first album and continues to do even today.
ONEUS is a 6 member South Korean Pop band that had its debut in 2019 under RBW Entertainment. Their debut single “Valkyrie” from the album “Light Us” was a success, and they were able to have a concert in Japan the same year as their debut. Thye had a concert in various states in the United States in 2019, which proved them a huge success.
Oneus won KY Star’s “Most Anticipated Idol” award in their debut year and were nominated in the big categories as well. The band won both the categories they were nominated for last year, and they’ve been nominated for the “Male Idol Group Popularity Award”.

After the end of their documentary “Hot Blood Men” that captured their training days, One Day got split into two different groups – a 4 member ballad group called 2AM and a 7 member hip-hop group called 2PM. The team had its debut in 2008 with the single “Hottest Time of the Day” and made an image for themselves as macho men rather than the commonly portrayed concept of pretty boys.
The following year, in 2009, a controversy surrounding the team’s former leader was being spread, which made him leave the band. Jaebeom said he would return to the States and study music before he returns to the industry again. 2PM’s album was a huge success that year and bagged them the “Best Male Group” award and the “Artist of the Year” award for the year 2009. The 6 members of the band completed their military service in 2021 one by one and have come back from their four-year hiatus that started in 2016. 2PM had their comeback in June 2021 with their seventh album, “Must”.
