Ever since Jujutsu Kaisen showed up in the anime world in 2020, it has been the cause of a lot of celebration among the community. And it completely deserves it. Jujutsu Kaisen is amazing in every way. The fights, the characters, and the unmistakably original storyline. Everything about Jujutsu Kaisen makes you want to pick up the series as soon as possible and unravel all its secrets. The anime is produced by none other than the famous MAPPA studios, who have not one but two of their creations regularly topping the ranking boards. These are, of course, Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan season 4.
The manga itself is also incredibly popular. Written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, it was first published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2018. As of March 2021, it has about fifteen volumes out in total. It is licensed in the English language for North America by Viz media. Moreover, it is also available to be read online on the popular manga reading app Manga Plus. Jujutsu Kaisen became popular enough to inspire not one but two light novels written by Ballad Kitaguni. These have been released under the Jump-J imprint in the years 2019 and 2020, respectively. In this article, we will be focusing on the manga instead of the anime.

Plot
Jujutsu Kaisen is centered around a world of sorcerers and curses. Sorcerers are people with the magical curse energy, which allows them supernatural powers like making monsters out of shadows or controlling time-space itself. Curses are evil spirits who manifested from misdoings and fears in human beings. They can be strong or weak on a scale measured by the sorcerers, with the most powerful ones being classified as Special Grade Spirits.
Yuji Itadori has had his grandfather die recently. His last words to him were ‘always help people and ‘die surrounded by people, unlike me.’ Taking his words to his heart, Yuji carries on and moves forward. He is a member of an Occult Research Club because it allows him free time and cheap thrills. However, things soon take a turn for the worse when the club finds an actual cursed object. Soon, the school starts flooding with cursed spirits moving around, looking to consume the cursed object, a finger.
Yuji comes across a sorcerer named Megumi, who asks him to stay back as he lunges into the fight. However, Yuji’s friends at the club and Megumi get overwhelmed by the many cursed spirits terrifying them. Seeing no other option, Yuji jumped into the fight and consumed the finger, which gives him incredible strength at a cost. Yuji is now the vessel of the most powerful curse ever, Ryomen Sukuna. The story continues as we see Yuji gets propelled into a world of sorcery and curses.
Chapter 144
The 144th chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen was released last Sunday on 4th April. It was titled That Place. Megumi and Yuji need to go back to the college to find a way to undo Gojo’s seal as well as find out more about Kamo’s plans. However, his presence is hidden with a thick layer of barriers making it difficult to find him in the first place. Yuji asks about Nobara and her condition but gets ignored by Megumi. Later, Choso arrives on the spot claiming he can get through the barriers. They end up meeting Yuki and Maki, the latter of who now has her face covered partially in bandages. She also has short hair, but she survived the blows because of her physical resistance. They head into the barrier to find a white void-like space. Most of them assume it was the barrier, while Yuki thinks it exists because of her.

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter Schedule
Jujutsu Kaisen releases a new chapter every Sunday. And so, according to the schedule, the next chapter, 145, will come out on April 11. Since the manga is a weekly one, every chapter comes out at the same time every Sunday, and so the schedule can be summed up as:
