Chapter 173 Recap
In Chapter 173, Reggie transfers all his points moments before his death. “Let fate toy with you before you die like a fool.” These were the cursed words that Reggie said to Megumi before succumbing to his injuries. Moreover, he also seems to recognize Master Tengen and gets amazed at the fact that the old sorcerer has lived this long. Deep down, Megumi feels that Tengen wasn’t telling the complete truth while explaining to them the purpose of the Culling games.
Meanwhile, Hanekozi has a rough time keeping up with Takaba’s unorthodox cursed techniques. He immediately retreats after hearing about Reggie’s death from Kogane. In the next panel, Remi is chased by a shadow that turns out to be Megumi’s demon dog. Just as he is about to kill her, something odd happens, and the demon dog disappears. Immediately after that, we see Hana Kurusu descending from the sky while Megumi lies unconscious with a grave injury.
The chapter introduces us to four other potent Culling games participants: Dhruv Lakdawalla (91 points), Ryu Ishigoori (77 points), Takako Uro (70 points), and Kurourushi (54 points). All four of them are extremely skilled sorcerers and possess their unique set of abilities. However, the hype for these new characters was only temporary since the preview panel shows Yuta Okkotsu slaying Dhruv Lakdawala like it’s some child’s play. I am pretty sure that none of the other three stands a chance before Yuta, either. So, the only thing I am looking forward to is a fight between Hana Kurusu and Yuta Okkotsu.
