Jujutsu Kaisen volume 0 will cover the first arc of the manga, featuring the life of the characters a year ago since the events of season 1. We will get a closer view of the backstories of second-year students and an introduction of a new character. This new character, who is also the protagonist of the movie, has been mentioned quite a few times in season 1. He is named Yuuta Okkotsu and is currently abroad as per the details of the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen. The upcoming prequel movie of the anime will once again be animated by MAPPA. It will also have some of the main cast returning to voice the characters, which was revealed in the recent Jujutsu Kaisen 0 trailer.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was announced back in March, and it was announced that the movie would be released in the winter of 2022. However, it was later confirmed that the Jujutsu Kaisen prequel movie would be released on 24 December 2021. This date in itself has a huge Easter egg hidden in it. On 27 October 2021, a new visual trailer was updated, which featured the main characters involved in the prequel movie. This includes Suguru Geto, Satoru Gojo, Panda, Toge Inumaki, Maki Zenin, and Yuuta Okkotsu.
It is to be noted that the movie will only be released in Japanese theatres on 24 December.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Trailer
The only teaser we had received till now was the one that came out during the very first announcement of the movie. Fans were appreciating the character designs through it until the creators of Jujutsu Kaisen dropped in the official trailer of the movie. The Jujutsu Kaisen movie trailer came out on 4 November 2021.
The trailer gives us brief views of all the main characters, and we can see how different their character designs look in order to match Akutami sensei’s designs from his prequel volume. We see Inumaki’s hair pulled up and Gojo Satoru in white blindfolds. Furthermore, we hear the voices of Yuuta Okkotsu and Rika for the first time.
In addition to the resuming voice cast, the anime has newly cast Kana Hanazawa for the voice of Rika. The trailer also reveals that the movie’s theme song will be “Itto” by King Gnu.

Yuuta is haunted by his childhood friend Rika’s spirit. When she gets manifested into a monstrous soul, she starts protecting Yuuta by harming his bullies. Thus Yuuta seeks to be isolated. However, Satoru Gojo convinces him to learn and control Rika and thus protect people. Now joining Jujutsu High as a first-year, Yuuta must learn how to control Rika.
In the meantime, another threat emerges.
