Johnny Knoxville: Career

Knoxville started his acting career as an extra and through appearing in commercials. He waited for the “big” break to come to him, but when he didn’t, he began to try and create one for himself. Knoxville made a video of testing self-defense equipment on himself, which captured the interest of Big Brother magazine. His stunts were then filmed and included in the Number Two video by Big Brother’s magazine.

Thereafter, Jeff Tremaine of Big Brother and Johnny Knoxville pitched an idea to Spike Jonze, a film director, and thus was Jackass born. Johnny is the idea-head of his Jackass team, and others often look at him as a leader. The show is directed by Jeff Tremaine.  Along with his Jackass co-stars Chris Pontius, Steve-O, and director Jeff Tremaine, and producer Elyashkevich, Johnny participated in Gumball 3000.
