Season 5 of Jane The Virgin will be it’s concluding Season, as you may know. The series will come to an end officially after Season 5. I, along with a hundred thousand other fans, could not understand the decision of the show makers to end the show just like that. But Brad Silberling, the executive producer has explicitly told us that their decision to end the show is in line with how they have laid the things out in Season 5.
Brad while hyping Season 5 said when viewers will watch the show, they will know and understand why the decision to wrap Jane The Virgin happened. Although it was Gina Rodriguez who first spoke of how Jane The Virgin was going to conclude at a talk in Texas, Brad Siberling confirmed the news officially. Maybe Brad is right because, with the ending of Season 4 of the show, things took a drastic turn for Gina, Raf, and Michael. But Season 5 will obviously speak of Michael’s mystery.
Besides teasing about Michael’s return and a love triangle, CW has been quiet on other details. When I say quiet, I mean they haven’t even begun promoting the show. “Charmed” and “Life After First Failure” are being hyped by the Network currently, instead of Jane The Virgin. Surprisingly, Jane The Virgin’s social media handles are cross-promoting other series from CW Network at the time when hype should have been built around Jane The Virgin Season 5.
Jane (Gina) herself is busy promoting “Smallfoot” an animated movie by Warner Bros. that she voiced a character for. Gina plays Kolka in the film. There’s grapevine that Gina is all set to be cast in another movie with Universal Pictures. Although significant developments haven’t been made on this pitched movie, it’s sure taking Gina’s time. The mysterious project is a comedy pitch from Jessica St. Clair and Lennon Parham and remains untitled for now. But at the same time, Gina does post stuff on social media here and there. Like for example her last post on her Instagram about Jane The Virgin was on September 19th.
Jane The Virgin Season 5: Spoilers
This Season which is the final is supposed to end in a major Telenovela format. Jane will have to choose between Michael and Raf. Michael is back, as most of you may know. It’s not his twin, not his double, not him in amnesia, not even someone wearing his face masks. The bizarre theories have been put to rest. It’s Michael himself who apparently looks like he survived the gunshot wound and only pretended to be dead. I am pretty sure Jane and Raf are strong as ever. Ever since the so-called death of Michael, Jane started dating Rafael. I can’t be sure of Jane and Raf though, but I guess you never know.
Jane The Virgin Season 5: Release Date
So for Season 5, we are all seeing a delay for reasons I discuss above. It won’t be coming back to CW and Netflix in 2018. You may expect an early 2019 release, is all I can say. No official confirmation has been made.
