Is Felicity Going To Die In ‘Arrow Season 7’?

arrow season 7

A trailer for Arrow Season 7 was recently released at the San Diego comic con. It shows Felicity being attacked which has fuelled rumors that Felicity may die this season. Many fans on social media were seen rejoicing at the impending doom. But what lead to this? Felicity used to be a favorite fan character bringing much needed comic relief.

Forbes, in an article even went so far as to claim that Arrow is dead and that Olicity killed it. No one has been more vocal about the issue than Forbes. Search “why Olicity is bad” on Google, and three articles pop up on top, and all by Forbes.

Granted that Emily Bett Rickards cannot do emotional scenes like the death of the original Black Canary as a case in point. Many fans hated how Felicity took the spotlight away from Laurel Lance whose character was so meticulously built up only to fall. But despite all her faults, should arrow fans be hoping for a character to die? Even if it is in reel life. There was only one character that brought much-needed humor and light moments to the show with her quirky chirpy nature.

Though now some of the even diehard fans of the shows are beginning to feel that Olicity is taking the limelight away from what the show is really about. It’s not a soap opera.

Anyways we might be wrong about it all, and this may not happen at all. Instead, we might get another interesting arc about Felicity as a single mother struggling with her husband in jail. That sounds more like the CW type, but recently there has been a change in the Arrow’s team. Not the one onscreen but the one behind the screen. Wendy Mericle who has been the showrunner will be stepping down, and Beth Schwartz will be stepping in. Also, the series co-creator Marc Guggenheim will serve as executive consultant. It is being touted that Schwartz has amazing things in store for fans. What that means for the future of Felicity, yet we know not.

Also for her single mother story arc, Rickards had this to say “I don’t know if I would be interested in exploring that storyline right now with Felicity,” Bett Rickards tells TV Guide. “I feel like she deserves a little something more than that, and I don’t want that to be taken the wrong way. I’d just be interested in seeing her; I don’t know, like, deal with a villain face-to-face for a consistent number of episodes?”

To find out tune in to the CW on October 15.

  1. I think your comments about EBR’s acting rather odd. She and SA are probably the ones who can really act on this show. If her character dies, it will also mean season 7 for Arrow be the last season.

    • I can assure you my friend that the views about EBR’s acting are not personal. I’ve already written and I quote “There was only one character that brought much-needed humor and light moments to the show with her quirky chirpy nature.”
I think EBR is an amazing actress though some fans out there disagree. I just elaborated on that. I think the entire cast is very talented and i love the show.
      Good day to you buddy.
