Immanence movie (2022) is a psychological horror movie that deals with the never-ending debate between religion and science. Kerry Bellessa directed the movie, with Joshua Oram as a co-writer. The movie is completely dark! It is based on the unexplained disappearance of transports in the Bermuda Triangle. However, the story is situated at a time when Bermuda Triangle is not popular for the incidents. Immanence movie begins on an empty boat with no power(light) to see. A female officer from the rescue team is checking on the boat as she talks on the walky-talky to some other officer. The clocks are all stopped at 11:39. Everything is completely fine in the boat. Then why did the crew jump off it? What was that shadow which disappeared instantly?
Are you telling me you didn’t sense something’s really creepy right in the beginning? I sensed! And your subconscious must’ve done the same. But how did it end? What does the end of Immanence movie mean? Was Jonah a Satanist or Christian? If you saw the movie and lost light, we’ve got you covered. Here is the Immanence movie’s ending, all explained!
For the starter, Suzu and Harper die. Only two survived, and this is really terrible. The movie left me wondering, see my opinion in the article and also give yours.

What Happens At The End Of Immanence Movie?
As the devil himself said, two of them will survive! Only two did. Jonah and Naomi made it out of the Bermuda Triangle. Roman killed himself while struggling with Jonah. He ends up stabbing himself in the chest, dying immediately. As he lies down, cold-blooded, Davis hits Jonah(who is panting heavily) on the head. Jonah faints for a while, during which Naomi fights the voice inside her head. Her conscience wins, and she helps Jonah to get up. Now at this point, Davis brings a hacksaw to cut the chain of the life raft(Roman hid the key of the raft’s lock, and since he’s dead, that’s the only option).
Here before Davis lose his senses and attack Jonah, Naomi explains that she is supposed to stay and the other two are going to be the survivors. All of them welcome the idea silently, and Naomi is caged and thrown in the sea by Jonah meanwhile, Davis cuts the chain. Jonah rushes to get the stopwatch. You might have thought it’s unimportant, but it’s the creepiest thing you might find out about this movie.
The Actual End Of Immanence Movie
It wasn’t Naomi but Davis who stayed. Exactly at 11:39, Jonah starts the stopwatch and starts pulling the rope up with which the cage is tied. At this moment, a deep breath is a must! A mesmerizing meteor shower is presented. This is what they came here for! And none of them witness the moment. Davis, who is finally done cutting the chain, adores the moment right before he is hit by God knows what. He dies right away, all we see is his cold eyes open and his cheek all covered in blood with a hole still producing smoke. Maybe the purpose of this was to make the audience think he was hit by a tiny piece of meteor or something, but the point is that he dies.
Next, we see Jonah succeeds in pulling Naomi up, she is still, eyes closed, not breathing. He keeps staring at her with hopes, and right when the stopwatch stops at 3 minutes, Naomi is all alive! This is the time I must remind you of the story of how Jonah found his “proof” of religion. Jonah was a scuba diver once, and he drowned one time, the medic declared him dead, and right after 3 minutes, he was back to life! The last thing he saw inside the sea was the devil himself. And that’s what made him believe in religion. This may sound ironic, but it’s quite factual that if the devil exists and you see Satan, you will naturally believe God is real too.
This incident of Jonah’s revival also happened at 11:39. Now from this, we understand only the two who believed in God survived the hell Satan threw at them. Naomi always had a little bit of faith in herself, she was just miserable inside because her father killed himself. All he said before dying was, “The search for god is an open door for the devil”.
Both of them died and survived death all by the will of God. The sole purpose of the end of Immanence was to tell the audience that faith can take you out of literal hell too. You just have to trust God!
Was Jonah Satanic In Immanence?
No, Jonah is Christian. He literally saw a divine creature, even though evil, it brought faith to him. If you wonder why the devil or Satan said you wanted to see me again, here’s the answer. He said so because it’s quite human nature to be willing to witness something unbelievable, especially when you have seen it once already. Jonah kept looking for divinity regardless of good or evil.
In his first appearance, he is witnessing an exorcism that turns out to be a fake one. He seems totally done with his search of nowhere(as it appeared at that time). But right then, he gets a text from Davis and soon as he understands the purpose of the crew on the ship, he realizes it’s God’s sign for him and others to witness the supernatural existence. Here science and religion seem to agree in the movie only that science assumed supernatural existence as Aliens and religion as God or maybe Devil.
The End Could Be Different
If you see it from my point of view, the Immanence movie could end differently, but the characters ruined it. Think for a minute, they saw the devil or maybe demon, evil either ways and what does the devil do? It tricks you into sin. Satan delivered the remaining four a well-planned murder idea. He made them think he knows the future, and as the viewer, maybe for once, you might have fallen into the trick too. Naomi’s mother being sick is a present matter, she is hiding it and so Satan can surely know about it. He only blabbers of Roman discovering various new scientific achievements with his team.
Satan, in the movie, did exactly what we’ve always read and heard of him. He grew fear, desire and tricked the squad into sin. He made them all work in such a way that they actually put the scene as they saw in the other boat. Chain cut, stopwatch, Roman lying lifeless, everything! For once, I thought they were really looking at their future in the other boat, but when you realize this is their encounter with the king of evil, of tricks, and all such things, you would doubt that too. Maybe it wasn’t the future, it was an instruction, a trick that this is their only way out. And all of them somehow did it! That’s why only two survived. And only the two who had faith.
