The fashion industry mourns the death of iconic French Designer Manfred Thierry Mugler. He was 73 years old. While sharing a black square to his personal Instagram account, the designer’s team confirmed the devastating news. Mugler created the iconic dress that Demi Moore wore in the hit 1993 movie Indecent Proposal. He also created an impressive line of fragrances as well.
Thierry Mugler started his journey in the industry during the 1970s, and the rest is history. While he retired from the field back in 2002, he remained a dominating name of the industry. His brand was later relaunched in 2010. It was often believed that Mugler used his knowledge of theatre and ballet to create themes for his shows.

Even after his retirement, Mugler went on to create several masterpieces for big names of the Entertainment industry. From creating the costumes for Beyoncé’s 2009 I Am… World Tour, he went on to design a dress for Kim Kardashian that she wore to the Met Gala. The costume was heavily inspired by Sophia Loren in Boy on a Dolphin. Mugler is believed to have been one of the first designers to tackle issues of ageism and racism. The television star praised him in an early interview stating that Mugler is full of vision and described his runway shows as the most legendary and iconic runway shows ever.
