In Chapter 228, Senku and his space exploration team find out that the massive black spot on the surface of the Moon is nothing but a huge mass of medusa devices. In other words, the godly entity that we were afraid of is the cumulation of these mechanical parasites. All this time, the mysterious enemy they pursued was closer than they thought.
These highly advanced devices can converse in any language through radio waves. Furthermore, the device they brought from Earth starts floating in mid-air and becomes the face of the mechanical structure. Once again, Whyman says, “Do you wanna die,” thereby confirming Chrome’s theory about Whyman not being willing to kill them. Rather, it seems that Whyman is trying to save humanity from death by petrifying them.
Senku infers that these mechanical beings show basic instincts of survival. Thus, they must operate according to replicable rules. Sadly, Senku hasn’t brought any fitting gift to negotiate with them, and neither does he have the technology to create more medusa devices. The only thing he can think of offering is replenishing their life force by changing the diamond batteries.
