It has only been a few hours since Hulu dropped few episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4. However, the series is taking the internet even with a few episodes. Yes, The Handmaid’s Tale is back with its Season 4 after a long wait of almost two years. The Handmaid’s Tale is the original flagship series of Hulu that explores Margaret Atwood’s dystopian universe, which is her creation in the novel of the same name in 1985. The series revolves around a place called Gilead, now America, wherein the government is autocratic. However, they are very strict with their female citizens in societal roles. They are not allowed to read, possess property or, even handle money.

The adaption of the series for the fourth season already took place when season three was airing. It is not much of a surprise, seeing how the show got thirteen nominations Primetime Emmy Awards, and even eight of them. The show is very much popular and has a loyal fanbase. It was, initially, thought that The Handmaid’s Tale would face a delay in the face of the Coronavirus Pandemic. However, the release date got set for April of 2021. Now, much to the surprise of everyone, the show even got its release a day earlier than the expected release date. So, let’s know in detail about the fourth season of the series and also how to stream it online.

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4: The Story So Far

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 release date got set for April 28, 2021. However, three episodes got an earlier dropping on April 27, 2021, on Hulu. They are namely, Episode 1- Pigs, Episode 2 – Nightshade, and Episode 3- The Crossing. The rest seven episodes will air consecutively one episode each week on Hulu. We saw how the season 3 finale ends of June being wounded from a gunshot. The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 picks up from the same with everyone dealing with the consequences of June. The other handmaids, including Janine, and Alma manage to stabilize the wounds of June in time. Everyone flees to a safe farmhouse in the disguise of Marthas.

Commander and Mrs. Keyes are the owner of the farms whereby June and the other handmaids. We also learned how the Commander torments Mrs. Keyes, a much younger girl in age than the Commander. She finds solace in comfort with June. Esther takes the life of Guardian Pogue after gaining some confidence from June. Later on, June knew she had to leave the farmhouse when two guardians came looking for Guardian Pogue. She went in search of a safe house and met Daisy in the process. Daisy says there is a word regarding small defiance acts by rebel groups and the flight of the children. June finds herself at Nick’s gunpoint upon her returning to the farmhouse. He enquires about the whereabouts of the other handmaid.

June, along with Esther, gets held in the facility. However, the other handmaids managed to escape. In the facility, the torture begins for June, asking about the other handmaids. But, June did not speak anything and is only met with more tortures. Moreover, June accuses Lydia of the worse conditions of the handmaids. Later on, she lies that the handmaids are in Burlington at a library to avoid pulling out of her fingernails. In the end, June gave away the location of the Handmaids when Commander Lawrence threatens her daughter, Hannah.

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4: Where to Watch Online?

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 is the original series of Hulu in the U.S. Hence; it is available on the streaming platform for premiering at 3 am ET or midnight PT. One has to subscribe to Hulu or can even get a free trial for the first-timers. Other than that, one can also obtain the Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN+ bundle for $13.99/month. Furthermore, the show is available in Australia on the SBS On Demand for streaming weekly. In Cannada, one can watch the show on CTV Drama, and even Crave entertainment service will air season 4. Channel 4 will air the series in the UK on a fixed decided date. Moreover, the series is also available for the subscribers of Amazon Prime Video.
