Bel-Air is an American drama series that is a remake of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Unlike the first original series starring Will Smith, this production takes a dramatic turn with a novel take, a modern cast, and is set in the current year. It was created by Susan and Andy Borowitz and stars Jabari Banks in the stellar role of Will Smith, Cassandra Freeman, and Jimmy Akingbola. The debut season consists of eleven episodes, and it managed to gather quite some traction and expectations. So, where can one watch Bel-Air?
Bel-Air initially started as a fan film on YouTube. But it turns out it was so cool that even Will Smith himself praised the production. Eventually, the film’s idea got picked up by a couple of Hollywood producers and was turned into a full-blown production that went into a bidding war for streaming rights between HBO Max, Netflix, and Peacock. Now, without any further ado, let’s begin covering this topic!
Bel-Air Plot
As a straight-A student from West Philly, Will Smith has a good shot at securing a basketball scholarship at a college of his choice. Local bully Darnell insults him after a football game with his best friend Tray. To settle their score, the two confront local drug lord Rashad, with whom they make a wager. A fight breaks out between Will and Tray, but Darnell manages to get away. Will ejects Tray’s gun from the courtroom. When the cops show up, Will is arrested along with Rashad. In order for her son to return to his family, Will’s mother has her brother Phil secure his release from prison and bring him to Bel-Air, Los Angeles.
