TikTok has become an all-time favorite social media platform, and it is more popular because of its features. TikTok was launched in 2017 outside China and got massive success in no time. It is a video-sharing platform, where one can make videos of themselves and post them on TikTok. It has many features like effects, filters, and a lot more. Also, the trend follows TikTok Challenges and many celebrities post their videos using various effects and filters. Likewise, the trend has drawn a huge audience on this platform. Also, some filters have become more popular lately, which is also a part of this ongoing trend.
So, we will see how to use the filters and effects in the TikTok application. Also, we will go through everything step by step and master using the filters and effects. Consider it as a beginner’s guide of using TikTok. Since many filters are trending lately, I will mention some of them here. Also, how to use them. Note that some countries have a ban on TikTok, so the users from such countries won’t use the app. Okay, so let’s start with the filters and effects session from the very beginning.
Step 1: Get TikTok & Create ID
The first thing to do is- download the application. Go to the Play Store or App Store, whatever store you have on your phone for downloading an app, go there. Search ‘TikTok’ and install it. It will take a few seconds to download the app. After downloading successfully, open the app. Here, you need to create an account or say TikTok ID to use this app. To create an ID, you need to fill up your information like name, date of birth, and all. Also, if you are downloading it for the first time, you will get instructions on creating an account. However, I’ll mention it here anyway. So fill in the required info, and you are all set with your Tik Tok account.
Step 2: Filters on TikTok
So, here comes the highlight. To use effects in the app, you need to go to the ‘+’ button in the middle of the bottom panel. After selecting the middle button, the camera will open. You can change the camera on the front or backside. And on the right side of the screen, you will see many options like beauty, speed, flip flash, etc. There you will also get the ‘filters’ option. Select the filter options, and new panels of different filters will open. Browse through them, try them, and apply your favorite filters. After applying the filter, shoot your video and post it. Also, you can even apply a filter after shooting a video. To do so, click on the filter option which appears in the top right corner, choose the filter, and it’s done.
Step 3: Effects on TikTok
To use effects on TikTok, follow the steps. Firstly, go to that ‘+’ tab we saw earlier. After clicking there, the camera will open. And in the bottom panel, where the red button for video recording is there, you will get ‘Effects’ options on the left side. Click on that effects options, and several panels will open. In those panels, you will find all the effects. Please go through them, try them out, and make a video of yourself using your favorite effect. You can even add your favorite effects to ‘Favorites’ so that you can find that effect in favorites anytime.
Popular Filters and Effects
So, we saw how to use filters and effects in TikTok. Now, let’s see which are the popular ones. But before that, let’s revise what we learned in short. So, for Filter-
- Go to the ‘+’ tab
- Select the ‘Filters’ option on the right-hand corner of the screen
- Select your favorite filter and make a video, OR you can also make a video first and apply the filter later.
And as for the Effects-
- Go to the ‘+’ tab
- You will see the ‘Effects’ option on the left-hand side of the record button.
- Please select your favorite effect from them and record a video
So, that was all for the revision. Now, let’s have a look at the popular filters and effects. Lately, ‘Anime Filter’ got so much popularity, but you need to shoot the video on Snapchat and then post it on TikTok for that filter. The ‘Invisible Filter’ also got a lot of attention, but unfortunately, TikTok removed that filter in 2020. The effects on TikTok, ‘Bling Effect,’ ‘G6 Effect’, and ‘Inverted Effect’ are popular.
