Death Note: Synopsis

A Death Note is a not-so-ordinary notebook that is possessed by every Shinigami or the god of death that grants them the ability to kill any individual by just writing their name in it provided that they are familiar with the intended person’s face. Ryuk, one of such so-called Shinigamis, bored with his life and curious about how a human might use a Death Note, tossed one into the human world one day for entertainment purposes. As fate would have it, the one fortunate enough to pick up the Death Note is none other than Light Yagami, a high school genius. A bored and curious Light decides to check the authenticity of the notebook by putting in a criminal’s name. With the immediate death of the particular criminal, Light comes to the realization of just what a powerful and dangerous weapon he wields.
