Sifu, which means Master or teacher in Martial arts, is an upcoming beat ’em up action-adventure game developed and published by Sloclap. For those who don’t know what a beat ’em up action-adventure game is, it is a game that has a lot of action-packed into it. Sifu comes to the club of many fighting games that are already popular. Since there are already quite a few great fighting games available, the gaming community hopes how this game will be competing against those already famous titles. In this article, we will be looking at the sifu release date and everything you need to know.
The story of Sifu is about a kung fu student who sets out to fulfill a life-long vendetta: to hunt down and defeat the five assassins who were responsible for the brutal murder of his family. The game’s premise is set in a modern Chinese city where most of the game is close to reality, with some existence of magic. The protagonist possesses a magical talisman and decides to use the magic. Still, the magician warns that whenever he suffers a fatal injury in combat, his age will increase by a specific number of years with each resurrection, and he will die once the talisman’s magic is used up.

About Sloclap and Sifu
Many may not have heard about Sloclap, but Sifu is not the first game by Sloclap. Absolver, which was released back in 2017, is the first game by Sloclap. This game has pretty good ratings among the gaming community, and since the game studio has a good track record in developing a good game even though it’s only one. Absolver was a multiplayer game, whereas it has been confirmed that Sifu won’t have multiplayer.
This is because the team doesn’t want to develop additional infrastructure for the online version of the game. As the storyline in the beginning suggests, the game has inspirations from kung fu, especially from Kung-fu movies starring Jackie Chan. The combat style in the game is based on the Pak Mei style. To make the moves in the game authentic, the team consulted Benjamin Culos, a Pak Mei kung fu master.
The game emphasizes mastery through practice, which means the characters will develop their skills as they practice more and more. This means the game has been designed to be difficult and has a sharp learning curve to make the gameplay experience fully immersive.
