Grantchester season 6 has recently started airing on our screens and given away two episodes till this point in time. Let’s just all accept the fact that there are many detective shows in the entertainment industry right now, but there are not enough. Getting new episodes of Grantchester all this time makes me so happy imagine having ten other detective shows give you the same happiness only 10 times more. Now, coming back, the plot of the series is set in Cambridgeshire Village in the 1950s. James Runcie penned down a short story called The Grantchester Mysteries. This is what the show is based on.
As the series starts, we see Sidney Chamber, who happens to be an Anglican Vicar and a former Scots Guards officer. He has a successor named Will Davenport. They are all working with Geordie Keating, an overworked Detective Inspector. This is a weird trio that always manages to solve the crime. Geordie has his own perspective towards any case. He looks at the situation with gruff eyes and has a step approach. On the other hand, we see Chambers, who has more intuitive techniques of coaxing the entire information. This ranges from witnesses to even suspects.
Previously on the sixth season, with its first episode, we saw that Will, as well as Geordie, has now decided to take a vacation that they obviously deserve. They sign up for a camp and go on a trip. But soon, the chaos knocks on their door as they see the camp owner is dead. The reason for his death is unknown, and it is possibly because of a suspicious condition. Later in the second episode, we witness that the baptism service is taking place.
Although, it gets unevenly disturbed by a man who claims that the child is actually his. This is when Will and Geordie are called upon. They are both tied down in this familial mess. Well, as with everything in the show, this case too has ties to a bigger and deeper crime. It is all connected to the murder of Joan Beaumont. Joan used to be the head of a local adoption agency. Well, this is all that we have seen till this point in time in the sixth season of the series. Thus, it is time we should probably be talking about the newest episode.
