The world of Genshin Impact is a fantasy world called Teyvat, which has seven distinct nations and has seven elements. Each nation has a tie with one element and has different gods. Genshin Impact follows an unnamed Traveler, who goes into the search for their lost sibling along with a companion called Paimon in Teyvat. During their travel, they get involved in the affairs of the Teyvat. The game was a huge success during its release both critically and financially. The game has over 80 million lifetime downloads and has generated over three billion dollars for Mihoyo.
Genshin Impact Update 2.5 Contents
Genshin Impact’s new update, Update 2.5, will be upon the players sometime in February, but still, nothing major is known about update 2.5. Game’s closed beta program version 2.5 went to some select players, where they got access to the contents.

Character Skins
Every update brings new skins for some characters, and this new update will be no different in that aspect as some characters are getting new skins.
- Jean new skin – Gunhildr’s Heritage
- Amber new skin – 100% Outrider
- Mona new skin – Covenant of Stars and Moon
- Rosaria new skin – Churchs Free Spirit.
New Enemies
The new update is bringing in a new enemy named Shadowy Husks. Shadowy Husks will have the ability to heal and shield their allies(players foes). When players defeat the husks, they will get Gloomy, Dark, and Deathly Statuettes.
There are three different versions of the Shadow Husks:
- Line-breaker Shadowy Husk
- Guard Shadowy Husk
- Flagbearer Shadowy Husk
Weekly Boss
Weekly Bosses are enemies who are stronger and more difficult to deal with than normal bosses. After defeating them, the players get some great rewards, like Character Ascension Materials, Artifacts, and Crafting Materials. Players can fight these bosses any time they want, but the rewards will only drop only weekly.
With Update 2.5, the weekly bosses will be the Electro Archon of Inazuma, Raiden Shogun. She first came in Genshin Impact in Update 2.1. She was the main antagonist of the Inazuma Archon quest, as it was her who enforced the Vision Hunt Decree. According to leaks, Raiden will drop the Ascension Material as a reward and will have a notably different character design than her playable version.

It is not news anymore that each update brings a new character to Genshin Impact. Update 2.5 will bring Yae Miko as the playable character in Genshin Impact.
Owner of Yae Publishing House, which publishes light novels, Yae also oversees the Grand Narukami Shrine as a head shrine maiden. She is the descendant of the Kitsune Lineage. She will be a five-star rarity character, presumably, and an Electro element user.
Since her first appearance in Update 2.1 Archon Quest, Yae was demanded as a playable character, which the developers listened to and are bringing her in new Update 2.5.
Others
Update 2.5 will bring in many new Quality of Life changes for the Genshin Impact. Currently, we only know that audio settings, weapon inventory, and artifacts inventory changes will be arriving in the game with the update.
Genshin Impact Update 2.5 Release Date
When will the new update, Update 2.5, be released? Is it coming sooner? The developers, miHoYo, always host a Livestream that shows the contents of the new update coming. miHoYo generally and maybe always hosts the Livestream two weeks prior to the update release.
The date is yet to be out by the developers, but the fans have speculated that Livestream will happen on 4 February 2022. If this is true, then Update 2.5 will drop two weeks after the Livestream, which is between 12 February – 16 February 2022.
