The Last of Us was a major hit, and it really created a place of its own in the hearts of gamers all over the world. Sony’s exclusive is on a high demand, and the response from fans after seeing the glimpse of The Last of Us Part II at the E3, bolsters this fact to a tremendous height.
The Last of Us Part II Gameplay Trailer:
The first installment of The Last of Us Part II had its own multiplayer mode which was pretty well created so, fans obviously waited for the reveal of the same in The Last of Us Part II. However, it was only recently, when Naughty Dog, the developer, confirmed the addition of a multiplayer mode which is popularly known as the Factions.
In an interview with Gamespot, the game’s co-director, Anthony Newman said, “Factions is coming back.” To which Kurt Margenau, fellow co-director added, “Multiplayer is coming back. We’re not going to talk details yet about what form that takes, but we can confirm there will be multiplayer.”
If you’re unfamiliar with Factions, it basically allows “players lead[ing] a clan of survivors through 12 weeks, either as “Fireflies” (yellow) or “Hunters” (blue). Each match played counts as one day, and gives the players opportunities to gather supplies to fuel the clan’s growth and progress.
“At the start of every game, the player will be told the target amount of supplies needed to keep the clan healthy. Any extra supplies over the amount needed will be used to entice other survivors to join your clan. Hungry and sick survivors can be healed by collecting more than the target amount of supplies during each day.”
The Last of Us Part II gameplay was presented by Sony at the E3, and the gameplay trailer looks extremely chaotic and good at the same time. Some even considered it as a real action movie. The second installment takes place after a long period of time from its predecessor and players will play the character of Ellie.
The Last of Us Part II release date hasn’t been revealed yet as the game is still in its early development stages and is expected to take quite some time before getting finished.
