Father Brown Brief Synopsis
Father Brown is the sherlock holmes of the fictional village of Kembleford, located in the Cotswolds. He is a priest at the St Mary’s Catholic Church of the village. In the early 1950s, England is still under the burden of the aftermath of the loss during world war II. And the country still applies the death penalty. And father brown is the only man with all the funs in the city. Father Brown solves murder cases but only on certain conditions. Hiring Father Brown is difficult as well as easy only if these conditions are taken care of. However, Father has a knack to help others and the ones in utmost need; he only solves the cases in which either the members of his parish are involved, or he is directly approached by the person.
He is most attracted to strange circumstances and tougher targets. With a keen desire to solve murder cases and an utter dedication to providing justice, his stops are unstoppable until the job is completely done. Mostly he is seen leaving his prosaic parish tasks for the investigations. Father is always aided by a group of most elite members in the village and his dearest acquaintances. The team, along with Father brown, involves Mrs. McCarthy (played by Sorcha Cusack), Inspector Mallory (aka Jack Deam), and Bunty Windermere (played by Emer Kenny), socialite Felicia Montague; her driver, Sid (a former criminal); and her niece Bunty Windermere (played by Emer Kenny).
Despite being the best detective in the village, father Brown is always a rouble for the local police. With his sharp wit and intellect comes a strange habit of pinpointing clues, offering advice, and demoralizing the decisions of the local police. Even after having the best advice, he still annoys the local police inspector. Father Brown is very clear about his relationship with the police and holds no grudges against them. But he often embarrasses them by being the right mind at the right time. The police often get to the wrong conclusion regarding the case and arrest the wrong suspect.
Father Brown believes in imparting true judgment in any case. He served in the military in world war I.He has a way with veterans. The vacations with the priests make him more dynamic in understanding human nature with a true sense of forgiveness and redemption. He believes in delivering the exact justice rather than muttering on the strict letter of the law and condemning for guilty. Father is respective to his ground roots and his religion. He obediently accepts the Seal Of Confession in the Catholic Church. Father allows the sinners to accept their murder in front of him and hears them without any judgments. He suggests they surrender to the authorities and take responsibility for what they have done. But then understands the person and promises not to hinder their decision to not do so or even their escape.
