Masashi Kishimoto’s parted ways with the Naruto manga quite a while ago. Naruto was a huge success which ran through 14 years and could’ve even gone on for longer had Kishimoto been up for it. But, releasing manga in Weekly Shounen Jump for over ten years and delivering quality consistently is a very hard task. So, Kishimoto didn’t think that continuing Naruto was going to be the best idea.
At that point, Kishimoto announced that he was going to take a break for a couple of years. He said he hadn’t spent any time with his family for years, and he didn’t even get to go to his honeymoon. After having adequate rest, Kishimoto then started working on Boruto, but only as a supervisor. He said that he felt ready for a comeback to Jump and that he was already working on a new manga.
Masashi Kishimoto’s New Manga Details
So, when exactly is Kishimoto’s new manga coming out? What is it going to be about? Here’s everything that we know about the manga so far:
According to Masashi Kishimoto himself, the new manga is going to be very different from what we’ve seen in Naruto. It is going to be a science fiction, which seems like a great idea. Dr. Stone, which is currently running in Weekly Shounen Jump is also a very interesting sci-fi and fantasy story, and I’m expecting something along those lines from Kishimoto as well.
According to the Editor in Chief of Weekly Shounen Jump, Kishimoto will be coming out with his new manga at some point in 2018, and that has everyone excited. The serialization for the manga was said to be in progress earlier this year.
Details on Kishimoto’s team remain scarce. However, I’m guessing that we’ll find something out about it very soon. Since it is December already, I do not think that Kishimoto’s manga will come out this year. The new Jump year has also begun already.
What I’m hoping for is some new information to be released at Jump Festa, which will be held in Japan on December 23, 2018. I hope Kishimoto’s new manga comes out sometime in the first few months of 2019. If that happens, I know you all will be more than happy.
