Hey everyone! Today, I want to talk about Jiren. Episode 127 of Dragon Ball Super is out, and I’m sure most of you have watched it already. For those of you who haven’t watched it yet, I suggest that you watch the episode first. However, if you don’t mind reading spoilers, then let’s continue.
Dragon Ball Super Episode 127 was the first episode which gave us an idea of how strong Jiren really is. He is certainly someone above the level of a God of Destruction. I think the entire community was wondering and theorizing about his strength. Like why he’s so strong and what is he fighting for. Well, today’s episode answered half our questions that we all had in our minds. Jiren’s backstory was hinted in the manga. According to Belmod, Jiren has a wish that he wants to see get fulfilled. Even if it means going against everything that he stands for.
To me, it seems like it is definitely about his family and his teacher. For those of you who don’t know, Jiren’s entire family was killed during his childhood. Back then, he wasn’t obsessed with strength at all. After the death of his family, Jiren was taken in by a person. Who later on trained him.
This person made Jiren strong. Jiren gathered his friends so they could fight against the evil. Even though they trained, the power the enemy had was much stronger than Jiren had expected. They were defeated badly, and Jiren’s teacher died in the fight. His friends ended up abandoning him, thinking it was a lost cause. In the end, Jiren sought power and resolved that justice was the only true power.
I have two interesting ideas on what Jiren’s wish could be. The first one is simple. Jiren wants to bring those who were killed back to life. This includes his family and his teacher as well. This is the obvious one and I think this is what’s likely going to be the case. However, the other idea is more interesting.
We all know that Jiren is someone who would never kill people, even if they were bad guys. Maybe he broke the rule once. He possibly killed the one who killed his family and he can’t bring forgive himself. Maybe Jiren wants to redeem himself for that and that’s why he wants to bring the evil back to life. This is just my theory on all this. I think it is very interesting, though I’m leaning a bit towards the first one to be true. Hopefully, we’ll find out soon enough!
