We were looking forward to a confrontation of Goku, Vegeta, and Granolah. Fans were always wondering how they would react and what their interaction would be like.
Through the chapter, we also get to see Planet Cereal from the point of view of Goku and Vegeta. In the past few chapters, we have seen them train hard to become strong. Dragon Ball Super Chapter 73 Spoilers
Dragon Ball Super chapter 73 is titled ‘Goku Vs. Granolah’. Well, the title gives away a lot about the contents.
Goku Vs. Granolah Scene 1
The chapter opens with the battle between Goku and Granolah. Granolah is shooting blast attacks, and Goku is dodging them and vice versa. Goku reaches a forest as he was chasing Granolah. There are a lot of action scenes in this chapter rather than dialogues, so illustrations have specific importance. Granolah almost overpowers Goku for a panel with his punches, but the latter finally manages to attack back, and Granolah hits a tree. Goku powers up, destroying a lot of forest areas in the process.
Granolah observes a change in Goku’s blood and cell movements, to which Goku replies that Blue’s UI is not going to be easy. The fight resumes with Granolah attacking and Goku dodging until Goku makes use of Kamehameha. The force of the attack disrupts the surroundings and throws Oil backward, who was observing the fight. Granolah and Goku are exhausted as we see the former on the ground and the latter returns to its normal phase. But Granolah stands up and asks Goku to give up. He tells him that he will destroy the Saiyans and attacks Goku. Goku flies to the sky but teleports in time to Vegeta’s location.
Vegeta Deduces the Truth
On meeting Vegeta, he notes how similar the technique was to Moro’s technique. Vegeta then tells Goku what he had found out. He tells Goku about a certain race that excelled in sniping was destroyed by Freeza by using the Saiyans. Granolah must be the sole survivor of that race, says Vegeta. He also realizes that Maki and Oil had used them, but Oil says that it’s too late anyway.
However, Goku is determined to fight back. Vegeta is conflicted, but Goku assures him that he has yet not used his full strength.
Goku Vs. Granolah Again
Goku comes back to Granolah in his Ultra Instinct form. Not being able to see his vitals shocks Granolah. Goku does not stop and attacks him with a kick wanting to end things quickly since his form won’t last long. When Granolah is battered, Goku tries to talk to him, but Granolah does not budge and continues to attack him. Goku attacks him with Kiai. At the same time, Vegeta observes their fight and realizes that Granolah’s energy is not depleting. Also, he notices something.
On the other hand, they are both impressed by each other’s strengths, and Goku even asks Granolah how he trains. Granolah tells him that he underestimated the Saiyans. Goku suggests that they train harder and fight again, but Granolah tells him that he has not lost yet. He reveals that he had split his strength between himself and a clone. Saying so, the clone vanishes.
We are given a look at what Vegeta had noticed – a spaceship in the distance, and Granolah sat inside it. He is about to inform about it Goku but the Granolah he had seen just now disappears. Granolah appears in front of Goku and attacks his chest, which deactivates Goku’s UI. In the next panels, Goku gets knocked out by a single strong blow from Granolah.
Vegeta Vs. Granolah
Granolah speaks to Goku’s knocked-out self about his plan. He was using clones to fight the Saiyans as he was saving his strength to fight Freeza. Clearly, he had been strategizing since the beginning of the fight. Vegeta hears his plan and appears before him. He challenges Granolah to a fight. The chapter ends with Vegeta telling him to prepare for destruction.
“If you’re after the Saiyans to destroy them, I’ll do everything in my power to get rid of you. Prepare for your destruction, Cerealian.” – Vegeta, Dragon Ball Super, Chapter 73.
