The 2021 South Korean drama revolving around the Korean Military Police, D.P., is confirmed for season 2. Netflix has just renewed the popular Korean drama series after its gaining popularity. Netflix Renews Kdrama D.P For Season 2
On December 14, Netflix announced that it had given the green signal to D.P, season 2. After making the viewers wait for months, Netflix Korea shared the renewal on their official Twitter account. As per the tweet, Jung Ahe In and Koo Kyo Hwan will be returning to D.P season 2. The other cast members for the next season are yet to be revealed.

Netflix renews series based on the viewership performance made by them. Undoubtedly, D.P. performed exceptionally well outside of Europe and United States. Also, it was on the “Top Ten” lists of Netflix in many Asian countries. On the other hand, it spent 8 weeks in South Korea on the ‘Top Ten’ list, making it a commercial success.
D.P has a rating of 8.8 on IMDB. Plus, it grabbed stunning reviews from acclaimed critics of the biz. One of the prestigious critics cited the drama as ‘the finest K-Drama mini-series of the year.’ Simultaneously, another one wrote, “D.P. is worth watching,” Especially as it gives an insight into the Korean mandatory military service.
D.P Season 2 Netflix Release Date
Netflix has just renewed the drama. Thus, the release date of D.P. season 2 is quite hard to predict at the moment. We can still expect it to release in mid-2022. The script for the new season has been in the works since February 2021.
Jung Hae In, who leads the drama, revealed during an interview that he and Han Jun Hee (Director) have been working on the script for D.P. season 2. The mini-Kdrama series is based on the Lezhin webtoon D.P Dog’s Day by Kim Bo-Tong. Kim also serves as the screenwriter of the drama. D.P aired on August 27, 2021, with six parts. Almost four months later, it is renewed by Netflix. We expect to get more information about the filming and release date soon.
What To Expect From Season 2?
The second season of D.P. (Deserter Pursuit) will pick up from the events that took place at the end of season 1. The end of D.P. season 1 brought Suk Bong, Hwang Jang Soo, and Jun-Ho in a stressful situation after Suk Bong tried to kill Jang Soo and made him a hostage. Detective Na somehow saved Jang Soo, and Jun-Ho convinced him not to beat the deserter too much.
After swift series of events, Suk Bong gets possession of Han’s gun and marches to shoot Suk Bong. But, in turn of the situation, the armed military guards surround Sun Bok, and the latter pulls the trigger and kills himself. He aims for his head but fires into his neck to experience a slow and painful death. In his last moments, he calls out his mother.
The second season of D.P. will deal with Son Buk’s death after events. Also, it will continue to focus on the bullying culture followed inside South Korea’s military service. After Son Buk’s death, Jun-Ho and the team might bring some changes to how things used to work.
