Another day, another Kpop idol has been accused of misconduct and bullying during their high school years. As of March, Park Jaechan of the talented Kpop boy group Donkiz has been accused of bullying and smoking by an anonymous user on Twitter. For those of you who do not know, Park Jaechan is a singer, songwriter as well as actor.
Furthermore, Jaechan was the third member to be introduced as a part of Donkiz. It comes as no surprise after taking one glance at Jaechan that he is the visual of the group. Apart from having heavenly visuals, Jaechan can sing and also rap. He excels at playing the piano. Moreover, it seems that Jaechan was destined to be a Kpop idol considering how he won first place at a music show contest.
However more than his musical success, Jaechan has become the talk of the town with his recent acting venture in Rakuten Viki’s latest boy love series titled ‘Semantic Error‘. Jaechan was applauded by fans firstly for playing an LGBTQ+ character and then secondly for his amazing acting. However, Jaechan’s trip on cloud nine did not last long because he was accused of bullying students mostly females, and other notorious activities during his time in high school. In this article, we will be telling you all that you need to know about Jaechan’s bullying scandal to what the accuser and the agency had to say regarding this matter.
Donkiz’s Jaechan Bullying Scandal: The Accusor’s Claims
Just when Jaechan was basking in praises after Semantic Error successfully completed airing with good reviews, he was hit with a bullying accusation. On the 4th of March, an anonymous user on Twitter claimed that they had gone to the same middle school as Jaechan exposed Jaechan’s past. Furthermore, the accuser said that the actor who is currently receiving love for playing Choo Sang Woo in Semantic Error was a terrible school bully. He had a thing for bullying female students ever since he was in middle school.
The accuser further added that Jaechan used to hang out or lead a group of bullies and harass other students. Jaechan also had a habit of smoking electric cigarettes during classroom hours. The user said that it was necessary that the people know the real truth about Jaechan before becoming a fan of his. In order to support their claims, the user attached photos of Jaechan from his graduation in elementary and middle school. And as in most bullying cases surrounding Kpop idols, fans refused to believe the claims reasoning that the photos did not mean anything but that they went to the same school.
And all of this is just an attempt to slander their idol and get fame. This could be true, but many other students from Jaechan’s middle school started supporting these claims. Additionally, the user also wrote that Jaechan used to talk crap about male idols up until he himself got chosen as a trainee in 9th grade.
What’s surprising is that this is not Jaechan’s first time facing a bullying allegation. In 2019, when Jaechan debuted as a member of DONGKIZ, a netizen claimed that he used to post pictures with different girls even after becoming a trainee.
Dongyo Entertainment Releases Statement Regarding Jaechan’s Bullying Scandal
After the accusor’s claim caused an uproar, Dongyo Entertainment released a statement. In its statement, Dongyo Entertainment started off by thanking Jaechan’s loyal fans who did not believe in what the anonymous accuser had to say about their idol. Jaechan’s agency further added that as soon as the post started trending online, the company started its own investigation on the artist. Not only have they checked with acquaintances but also have also checked with the representatives of the school that Jaechan attended.
After inquiring with both the representatives and acquaintances, the company has concluded that the accusations are false. Furthermore, Dongyo Entertainment has also filed a lawsuit for cyber-libel and suspicion of slander through the spread of false information on the 4th of March itself. The best part of the statement was when the agency stated that it will not watch a budding flower be trampled upon by an unknown source.
