After the trilogy that recaps the whole series, the upcoming film Code Geass: Lelouch the Re;surrection will finally come on cinemas next year. The movie released its second preview video which shows more of what to expect. Except for the recap of the last event in the anime, Lelouch was not seen in the preview which doesn’t confirm if he’s still alive or not. Here’s the video if you haven’t seen it yet.
There’s a handful of new characters in the movie, including Shamuna (VA Keiko Toda), Fogunaa (VA Akio Ohtsuka), Kujapatto (VA Kenjiro Tsuda), Shario (VA Ayumu Murase), Shesutaaru (VA Nobunaga Shimazaki), and Bituru (VA Wataru Takagi). According to Anime News Network, the story will start two years after Lelouch’s plan, the Zero Requiem. There is no clue if Lelouch is alive or dead since the video only shows a man in Zero’s costume.
The story will revolve around the new enemy called the Zilkhstan Kingdom. Its been two peaceful years since Lelouch’s death and people are enjoying a relatively peaceful life. However, this peace will be stirred when the warriors from the Zilkhstan Kingdom attacked Nunnally and the Suzaku, who is the new Zero. After Suzaku was defeated, who will be the one saving his people from the ruthless warriors of Zilkhstan Kingdom?
Code Geass: Lelouch the Re;surrection is expected to come this February 9, 2019. The film will be directed by Goro Taniguchi and will be produced by Sunrise and the Code Geass Production Committee. It was first announced last 2016 by Sunrise for the franchise’s tenth-year anniversary. After the announcement, three recap films was released with additional scenes and new voice overs. The three films were released from 2017 to this year. The film will open in 120 theaters in Japan, but there is still no news if we will get international releases.
