Charmed Reboot was announced back in 2017, and it has attracted quite a bit of controversy. The fans of the original series, which ran from 1998 to 2006 are very angry about it. The show follows the Halliwell sisters. The CW has tinkered with the show, and they took the staff from Jane the Virgin to revamp Charmed for a newer generation.
It is obvious that in this time, you have to change and adapt in order to be a hit. Not many people are fans of the old times. I’m not taking any sides here. The new series is politically charged, and it is going to reflect on the current times. So far we have received a lot of details about the reboot. The news about the reboot is actually pretty old. However, after waiting for so long, the show will finally premiere on October 14.
The series has been altered as I said. So, The CW gave us an idea of what the reboot will hold. The reboot has been described as “a fierce, funny, feminist reboot” of the original. The description also says that the show is focused on three sisters, who discover they are witches. The story is set in the fictional town of Hilltowne. The story picks up from the murder of the mother of the three sisters.
Moving on to the cast of the show. The show will have an entirely different cast, and it will be exciting to see what they manage to put on the plate for us. Here is the cast for the new season of Charmed—
Melonie Diaz as Mel Vera
Madeleine Mantock as Macy Vaughn
Sarah Jeffery as Maggie Vera
Rupert Evans as Harry Greenwood
Ellen Tamaki as Nico Hamada
Ser’Darius Blain as Galvin
Charlie Gillespie as Brian.
However, not everyone is pleased with the reboot. Holly Marie Combs let her opinion be known. She tweeted, “I will never understand what is fierce, funny, or feminist in creating a show that basically says the original actresses are too old to do a job they did 12 years ago.”
