Castlevania is an original Netflix series based on a Japanese video game of the same name. It is an adult American Anime web series. The series unarguably has one of the best English dubs in any other anime. Castlevania gained public and critical approval soon after its release and is still in trend now. The third season of the series that aired on 5th March 2020 left the audience with an unexpected plot twist. Since then, fans are highly anticipating Castlevania Season 4. Netflix confirmed the fourth season of Castlevania soon after the third season’s release but didn’t announce the release date. Here, we will discuss everything we know about season 4 and the possible release date.
Castlevania Plot Summary:
The series starts with a Bishop publically burning a woman alive on the grounds of her being a witch. She was Vlad Tepes’ (Dracula) wife, a vampire whose existence is considered a myth by the people. Vlad swore to unleash hell upon humanity, who brutally murdered his beloved wife. He released an army of murderous demonic creatures from hell and started a one-sided annihilation of the people of Wallachia. His son Alucard awakens from his slumber and joins a vampire hunter Trevor and a mage Sypha. Together, they start a journey to bring an end to Vlad’s terror and save humanity. The series also includes the backstory of Trevor, Alucard, and Sypha. Season 2 and season 3 follows the story of these three after the demise of Vlad.
Castlevania Season 3 Recap:
Season 3 left the audience with a huge cliffhanger when Alucard walks into the castle, and the scene of Taka and Sumi’s corpses impaled on stakes is placed at the entrance. This scene symbolizes that Alucard might become like his father, who also put people on stakes in front of the castle. We can assume that he will try to take actions like his father, especially after her last dialogue ends with “much like dear old dad.”
This came out as a huge shock for the audience because no one could imagine the kind and caring Alucard to do something so brutish. However, his actions could be justified because of Taka and Sumi’s ultimate betrayal. The third season-ending justifies a potential for the fourth season and leaves the fans anticipating for more.
Season 4 of Castlevania Spoilers:
The fourth season will pick up the story from where it ended in the previous season.
Carmilla will start her corridor-pen plan with Hector, who is now Lenore’s slave.
Hector will most likely betray Lenore and Carmilla in the fourth season.
The series shows the potential of antagonizing Alucard.
Trevor and Sypha may have to fight Alucard to stop him from hurting others and bring him to his old self.
Attempts to revive Dracula will also be focused on the fourth season.
Castlevania Season 4 Release Date:
There is a 15-month between season 1 and season 2; and a 16-month gap between season 2 and season 3. Speculating the time difference between the previous seasons, it is very likely that season 4 of Castlevania will air in summer 2021, probably after May 2021. However, we can’t rule out the possibility of delays because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the producer Adi Shankar is working on other projects like Devil May Cry. The series is currently under the Frederator Studios.
You can stream all the seasons of the series on the official website of Netflix.
