“The Neighborhood” Season 4 Episode 10 will return to CBS after the Christmas season. The hiatus will be four weeks long. Returning to the TV screen next year, we’ll see our lovely neighbors in a new episode titled “Welcome to Jury Duty”. The synopsis for the upcoming episode promises some great plot for hilarity to ensue. Calvin and Dave’s new roles as jurors in a trial will occupy the focus of the plot. However, we’ll also see the Butler brothers contending with the ramifications of their mistakes.
Robbie Countryman is set to direct the upcoming episode, with Michael Carrington writing the teleplay. Until the next installment of the wholesome sitcom arrives, let’s delve into all that happened the previous time with the Butlers and the Johnsons. Here’s all that episode 9 and episode 10 of “The Neighborhood” season 4 entail. Spoilers ahead!
The Neighborhood Season 4 Episode 9 Recap
Episode 9 opens with Dave taking Calvin to an expensive clothing store called Haberdashery LA. Calvin asks Dave why they are there? Dave says he needs some shirts for work and Haberdashery LA is the hottest thing in town. The store manager takes notice of these two and starts showing them around different items. Enticing them with some bourbon, the manager shows Calvin an expensive jacket. Calvin really digs the jacket and Dave does too, soon suggesting to buy it. Calvin wants to but drops the idea as soon as he hears the price — 800 dollars. However, the manager and Dave manage to convince Calvin to eventually buy it. Calvin does and back at the Johnsons’ house, he shows it off to Gemma and Tina. They like the jacket too.
Johnsons’ New Friends & Grover’s Chaotic New Friend
Gemma is excited to break the news about their new parent friends Josh and Daisy. Gemma says they really need some parent friends to do all the parenting stuff with. The next day, Josh and Daisy visit, and all seems pretty smooth sailing until they meet their chaotic and indisciplined daughter, Thatcher. She is rambunctious and disrespectful and her parents don’t mind it. Justifying disrespectful and problematic behavior with their pretentious and annoying parenting knowledge, Josh and Daisy don’t confront Thatcher at all. This doesn’t sit well with the Johnsons at all. When the Johnsons visit Josh and Daisy, Thatcher continues to wreak chaos and act disrespectfully.
Gemma raises her concerns but Dave’s enthusiasm about his shared wine taste with Josh blinds him. However, that changes as soon as they see Grover starts acting the same way as Thatcher. During their next visit, Thatcher starts shooting fruit punch through her water gun. This puts Calvin’s new and precious jacket at risk of getting blotted. Thatcher does the expected and shoots the fruit punch gun at Calvin, but Tina jumps in front, saving the jacket. Calvin and Tina skedaddle while Gemma ultimately confronts Josh and Daisy. Although hesitant at first, Dave joins her too and they end their friendship with Josh and Daisy, showing the horrible parents and their out-of-line daughter the door.
Calvin’s Splurging & Over-protective Lifestyle
The main focus of the episode is Calvin’s new jacket that he splurged on. However, he soon develops an over-protecting and over-preserving attitude towards it, refusing to wear it outside at all. Tina confronts him about it and says he’s being too paranoid and protective. Calvin agrees and puts on the jacket but as soon as they open the door, the storm changes his mind real quick. Later, they visit Dave and Gemma and encounter the chaotic devil that Thatcher is.
This makes Calvin even more paranoid to wear his jacket outside. Tina confronts Calvin again and tells him he’s acting like her late mother, who didn’t get to enjoy certain things because of her over-preserving attitude as well. Calvin realizes this as well and finally starts wearing the jacket without worrying too much. The end of the episode sees Dave surprising Calvin with the same jacket that he’s bought for himself.
Malcolm Needs Space
We also see some banter between Marty and Malcolm in this episode. Turns out, Malcolm didn’t go to watch a marvel movie with Marty. Instead, he went with his friend. This upsets Marty, who had marked a calendar for it too. Marty later takes revenge by going to a basketball game with Malcolm’s same friend. The two brothers finally confront each other and Malcolm says he needed some space. Marty tells him he should’ve said so. The brothers apologize to each other and bury the hatchet.
The Neighborhood Season 4 Episode 10 Release Date

Meanwhile, Malcolm and Marty will rent out their house for a film shoot. However, they’ll forget to ask what the movie is about before renting the house.
