With the pandemic waves coming in and out, the world has seated itself in a bad place. However, for the anime community, 2021 has not been that bad, especially with the announcement of new anime adaptations and the renewal of our favorite series. Adding up to our little jar of happiness is the announcement of Bungou Stray Dogs season 4, an announcement we had been waiting for desperately. The anime is labeled as a ‘gag anime’ often but we all know it is so much greater than that. With the Bungou Stray Dogs season 4 announced, we can finally prepare ourselves for yet another ride through mystery and comedy- a combination that may just blow our minds. If you weren’t just yet, you might as well just start feeling the hype of this new season.
Ever since the third season concluded, fans have made several speculations over the release of the next season. Some even assumed that the next addition might be another movie. However, it turns out the franchise is rooting for another season of Bungou Stray Dogs, which is yet another good news since we would love to binge more BSD content. The popularity of the anime is far from being unnoticed, especially with a large number of BSD cosplays, tik-toks, and Instagram reels. Thus, we were quite shocked that the anime had not been renewed yet. The news about BSD season 4 announcement freed us from all these doubts.
Here is everything we know about season 4 of Bungou Stray Dogs and everything we can expect from it.
Bungou Stray Dogs season 4 will probably continue where the previous season left off. Season 3 of the anime and the details from the previous movies and seasons left several important questions in our mind, one especially referring to the mystery Book that Fyodor has been looking for. Furthermore, Fyodor Dostoevsky is a very mysterious character himself too. All we know about his ability is that it is named ‘Crime and Punishment’. We have yet to figure out what his abilities are and how far he will go to achieve his goals.
Bungou Stray Dogs last ended with the Cannibalism Arc. Following up after it is the Cannibalism Aftermath Arc and the Hunting Dogs Arc, two very interesting arcs which will take the story of Bungou Stray Dogs towards a darker path. We will see a more destructive nature of the Rats and the Armed Detective Agency and the Port Mafia battling this destructive force.
The Bungou Stray Dogs anime is based on the manga series by the same name written by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa. It was published by Kadokawa Shorten and serialized in the Young Ace. As of 2021, the manga has launched 21 volumes. The anime has covered up to 53 chapters from the manga and is available for streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix (only season 2).
