Bungou Stray Dogs Movie Officially Announced
The Bungou Stray Dogs BEAST movie has been discussed by the franchise several times. However, an official announcement was made on 10 September 2021 which confirmed the release of the upcoming movie. The movie will be titled “Bungou Stray Dogs the movie: BEAST”. Its announcement was made on the official Twitter handle of the movie, uploaded along with the first visual and a link to the movie’s official website.

The tweet reads “No one knows the future”. The movie’s announcement also came with an exciting 7-day countdown, at the end of which the creators will reveal more information about the movie. A release date or trailer has not been dropped yet but we can expect them as the hype continues to build up.

What Will The Movie Be Based On?
The upcoming movie is based on the light novel by the same name written by the original mangaka Kafka Asagiri. “Bungo Stray Dogs BEAST” is set in contemporary Yokohama, where literary masters such as Osamu Dazai, Chuya Nakahara, Ryunosuke Akutagawa, Atsushi Nakajima, and Ranpo Edogawa fight using different abilities bearing the name of their work. As per the Light Novel, Akutagawa seeks to save his sister from the notorious Port Mafia. The plot develops around the confrontation of the two characters but in a different universe. Staff and Cast
The staff and most of the cast have not been announced yet. Only the two main cast members have been revealed so far. Shohei Hashimoto will play Ryunosuke Akutagawa and Yuki Torigoe will play Atsushi Nakajima. The two actors also portrayed the same characters in the stage play.
