Future Boruto Uzumaki has been the talk for quite some time. In fact, ever since the beginning of the series, fans only are concerned and watching the show because they want to know what happens in the future. But did you now that Boruto’s design in the future was rushed? Well today I am going to be discussing information from a recent interview done with Mikio Ikemoto about Future Boruto’s design confirming to be altered.
To begin with, Mikio Ikemoto is the illustrator for the Boruto Naruto Next Generations Manga. He was the former assistant of Masashi Kishimoto when he was writing and drawing Naruto. Ikemoto helped Kishimoto design characters. Ikemoto in fact designed Haku because Kishimoto was already prepping designs for the Chunin Exams. Anyhow, a recent interview was done with Ikemoto and in that interview the topic of future Boruto came up and how that scene was thought up of.
Ikemoto confirms that he was not the one who came up with that scene. Instead, Masashi Kishimoto was the one who designed and came up with that scene quick as an attention grabber. However, when Ikemoto began to draw the scene, it was close to the deadline and so he had to rush Boruto’s future design as the scene wasn’t fully developed by Kishimoto.
The original concept of the opening was for Konoha to be destroyed and have Boruto facing off against this opponent named Kawaki. However the design for Boruto’s tattoos, as well as his clothes, and physical appearance may change in the future. The one thing that will not change however, is Boruto’s dojutsu. Because the eye has already been solidified in the anime, the eye will remain the same. But as for the curse mark tattoo and his clothes, it may change or be altered when the story comes to that point in the manga and the anime. That is what Mikio Ikemoto confirmed in the interview.
It seems like the opening was a complete rush as everyone wanted to get the material out before the deadline had caught up to them. Do you think Boruto’s appearance will be dramatically different from what we saw? Or do you think it will be a slight change?
For example we have seen the changes Ikemoto made to Momoshiki’s design from Kishimoto’s. And we all know that Kishimoto has the final say in the decision making because he is the supervisor. So, Momoshiki’s new design will make an appearance in the Boruto anime instead of the movie version form the past. If it is a change like this that will happen to Boruto, do you think it is possible?
If not, we will more than likely see a different curse mark pattern that what we did see previously at the beginning of the manga. To back this up we have been getting closer to the Kara Organization in the manga, and we know they have curse marks as well. So, we may see different patterns in the future.
Mitsuki’s Side Story Confirmed To Be Animated Soon
Mitsuki, the son of Orochimaru, is the only character left that hasn’t gotten their fair share of screen time when it comes to their backstory. Now, every Naruto fan should’ve read the Mitsuki Side Story One Shot that Kishimoto drew last year in 2016 titled : Naruto Gaiden: Michita Tsuki ga Terasu Michi (Naruto Side Story : The Road Illuminated by the Moon). But if you haven’t, basically this story is the origins of Mitsuki and his relation to Orochimaru as well as his Special Power of Snake Sage Mode. With that said, lets get to the news of the Mitsuki side story being confirmed to be animated soon!
To begin with on December 27, 2017, the Boruto Naruto Next Generations episode on that day will be titled, “The Path Illuminated by the Full Moon.” Episode 39 will be the beginning of Mitsuki’s side story. The episode description reads as:
Mitsuki was originally from another village, the Village of the Hidden Sound. But since meeting with Boruto and the others, Mitsuki has decided that he will now remain at the Village of the Hidden Leaf and become a ninja. In the past, Mitsuki has had his memory taken away from him, and had lost his identity, along with what he wants to achieve in life, only to awaken in an unfamiliar laboratory. The mystery that surrounds Mitsuki, and the plethora of thoughts that surround him, has now cleared up for him.
As for episode 40, well that episode wont air until next year in January, because Studio Pierrot and TV Tokyo have scheduled “no episode” to be aired after episode 39 on the 27th of December. So on January 3, 2018, there will be no episode. So with that said, we are unsure of how many episodes Mitsuki’s side story will be. We do know Naruto Gaiden and the Scarlet Spring (Sarada’s story) was a total of 10 chapters long. The Boruto Naruto Next Generations anime adapted that 10 chapter source material into a total of five episodes.
Mitsuki’s side story was a total of 40-50 pages long and was a one shot manga. So it is unclear as to how long Studio Pierrot will make this short story. It could be one to three episodes long consideration that:
