Fans are excitedly awaiting the release of the much-awaited Korean drama, “Blueming.” This much-awaited Korean web series is directed by Hwang Da Seul, who is known for writing the underrated drama, ‘Love In Your Taste’ (2019) and she is also known for directing the short but cute film, “Inner Me,” along with ‘Where Your Eyes Linger’ (2020). “Blueming” also stars Jo Hyuk Joon as Hyeong Da Un and Kang Eun Bin as Cha Si Won.
Fans of Jo Hyuk Joon know him from another underrated Korean drama, known as “Meow, the Secret Boy.” Kang Eun Bin is a newbie who is breaking into the world of acting and Korean dramas with the help of this web series, “Blueming.” After a series of posters have been launched, fans cannot wait for the release of “Blueming” which is a BL-Korean Drama. For the uninitiated, BL dramas have been popularised by Thai dramas, which basically stand for “Boy Love” dramas.
In such dramas, fans need to be prepared to experience a lot of intense emotions and follow along with the story of two boys who will need to overcome all the barriers standing in their way just so they can express their love. While this concept is not new, since many other East Asian countries have capitalized on his concept, this is fairly new for the Korean industry.
Plot of “Blueming”
Cha Si Won, played by Kang Eun Bin, is a popular human, no matter where he goes and is loved by all, no matter who he meets. Ever since he was a child, Cha Si Won has been teased endlessly. In such teasings, he has been put down while his more youthful and vibrant sister has been praised constantly. Having such bad childhood experiences, Cha Si Won had pledged that he would not play second fiddle to anyone else. So, he has placed a lot of effort into carefully crafting a facade for himself that cannot be broken down by anyone else. He is now in college, where he does not doubt that he is the most popular person there.
To be honest, he loves this sort of adoration and attention that he gets. On the other hand, we have Jo Hyuk Joon as Hyeong Da Un, who is similar to Cha Si Won, who also has dashing good looks and great grades. The cherry on top of the cake is when Hyeong Da Un is the perfect boy from a perfectly rich family and has a great personality as well. Both of these characters meet and while there are a few tussles between them, sparks surely end up flying between both these young boys.
This Korean web drama will be based on a webtoon, with the name of “Who Can Define Popularity” by the webtoonist, Tak Bon. In this webtoon, it follows the life of a boy, Cha Si Won who had been mercilessly bullied in his earlier days. Now that he has grown up, he has the ability to reinvent himself, and so he has transformed into a typical hot guy. His life gets turned upside down when he meets the popular and overconfident Hyeong Da Un. The question is, will Cha Si Won push Hyeong Da Un away or will they fall in love with each other?
