  • Contradicting Sigurd in his judgment

Doing any of the three or more will lead Sigurd to leave for Norway, but if it’s less than three, then everything will be fine as Sigurd will stay in the settlement. We suggest you complete both Asgard and Jotunheim stories, as it will help to see things much clearer and understand everything in a much more sense. This article will cover both the main story as well as the hidden ending in the mythical arc. Let’s first look at What was happening in Asgard and Jotunheim?

Initially, we thought ike Eivor was dreaming of Asgard and Jotunheim after drinking Valka’s potions. The truth on that is a little more twisted. Eivor actually is traveling to a time before the Isu fell to the Toba Catastrophe, but in a Norse skin, thus Eivor is an Isu who is called Havi. Havi is the ancient name for Odin. She is experiencing a Norse version of the actual history.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Initially, we thought ike Eivor was dreaming of Asgard and Jotunheim after drinking Valka’s potions. But turns out that the truth on that is a little more than what we expected it to be.

We then hear the voice of Ezio Auditore coming through a broken mirror as members of the Isu send him messages in the future. Ezio asks Who is he when Gunlodr tells her what she has been doing. The Norse version of the Isu sees Odin, Tyr, and co. Drinking magical mead, as they want to stay alive and be reincarnated through the centuries since their inevitable destruction at Ragnarok.

It gives us a few hints that this is a version of an Isu reality, with Hyrrokin explaining that she, the Jotunheim King Suttungr, and Gunlodr ruled together as Father, Mother, and as the Sacred Voice. This description of Isu having the same rulers can also be found in a file on Layla’s laptop. Layla also talks about the six attempted preventions of Ragnarok, similar to the one of Isu.

Layla talks about the six attempted preventions of Ragnarok, similar to the one of Isu.

Since Hyrrokin talks about mixing her husband’s ashes with her side of the mead, we can assume that she is Juno, and she is the one who creates the Sages that will occur through history. The magical drink that Odin and Tyr use to survive by the end of their world is Norse skin for Isu tech and also is in a Codex entry for the Jotunheim King Suttingr, Shaun Hastings notes, in which the mead seems to think it as a metaphor for something else.

We are still not sure what it is supposed to be, but we can understand that Eivor is actually a descendant instead of the full reincarnation of the Isu Odin centuries. When we keep the pieces together, we can understand Eivor’s struggle and that boss’s fight with the one-eyed god by the end of the story. From this, we can understand that she was fighting with her own destiny. He is the demon on her shoulder as well as the one who whispers dark thoughts in her ear.

What we can understand is that Eivor is actually a descendant instead of the full reincarnation of the Isu Odin centuries.

Sigurd is also an Isu known as Tyr in Eivor’s Norse version of reality. He is also known as the Norse God of War. This means that the Ancients member Fulke’s talk on being a god by the evil Order was true. By the end of Jotunheim, Tyr loses his arm, reinforcing the destiny of Sigurd and how the threads of these stories are forced to repeat.

Sigurd is the one who leads Eivor to the Isu vault after remembering the language of the Isu. He says to Eivor that his visions are memories of a life once lived and shows Eivor the Apple of Eden that’s been used to power the shrine. Later, his knowledge was revealed by Fulke after torturing him. Fulke makes him see his own potential and remember his true role.

This land of endless slaughter and mead is Sigurd’s version of paradise. But Eivor discovers that it’s not the perfect heaven that they both need, even though her father might be there. She believes that he is just a creation, a simulated version of Eivor’s reality. When she decides to leave after convincing Sigurd, she realizes that she isn’t allowed to leave the simulation as Odin obstructs her and tells her to stay.

Sigurd is also an Isu known as Tyr in Eivor’s Norse version of reality

Eivor beats Odin and meets her family and friends. Eivor then the god, at that time he said that with him she will have wisdom and power, and asks what more she thinks she wants? To this, She replies Everything else. This says that she wants to stay in the human world and not the Isu simulation with him.

And we will be now looking at Basim. Basim wants Sigurd and Eivor to be dead. If you remember his campfire story, then we need to tell you that it wasn’t from the reality of the 9th century but from the ones before when they were Isu. This shows that Basim is the reincarnation of Loki in Eivor’s Norse Isu past. Thus, we can understand that he wants his fellow Isu dead as revenge for his son’s treatment.

Basim was the wolf son of Loki in Eivor’s Norse Isu history. Odin and Tyr bound the wolf in their past, and Basim was a reincarnation of Loki to get his revenge. It’s worth noting that Odin specifically said in the ending of the Asgard arc that Loki won’t be able to get any of the useful reincarnation mead. While beating Basim and plugging him into the Isu simulation system, Eivor paused Basim rather than killed him. To this, Sigurd says that Basim still lives, but he is in darkness.

AC Valhalla Ending explained

Basim was the wolf son of Loki in Eivor’s Norse Isu history.

And looking at the modern-day period Layla gets trapped in the simulation. Where Norse weavers continue to work in a shadow of the now broken Valhalla. Basim, as we know, exists in the simulation, and through this, he sent the message through the internet. Inside the Isu vault, his consciousness sent the Assassins a voice message that says to look into the memories of Eivor.

Basim says he has been working with the reader to prevent another catastrophe Desmond prevented in 2012. When Layla touches an Apple of Eden, the Norse loom weavers disappear, and Basim disappears. As for Reader, he is trying to figure out how to save the world with many calculations. Layla suggests looking at the alternate realities from back in 2012. In reality, Desmond didn’t save the world and see if humans find any way to survive. Layla stays with Reader in the simulation when she came to know that her human body has no chance.

And as to conclude the AC Valhalla Ending, we know that Basim has managed to heal himself with the staff. And yes, he is still an Isu, and not only that, when we look at the instance where he speaks to Aletheia, he says that the Heir of Memories performed her task perfectly. We also came to know that Layla was apparently destined to die in the vault always, thus getting him the staff of power and Aletheia. By this, he will be getting out into the universe.

AC Valhalla Ending explained

Basim says he has been working with the reader to prevent another catastrophe Desmond prevented in 2012.

So now we know that Basim is an Isu with a new body and the staff of ultimate power. If you are a die heart fan of the franchise, you can already imagine what could be the story of the next game in the franchise could be. We still don’t know whether we’ll see Layla and The Reader again in the next franchise, but let’s hope that we will be able to hear about them.

Their story was a bit emotional. We can make sure that we will be able to see Rebecca, Shaun, and Basim in the story later on, as they are our modern-day protagonists for the foreseeable. Basim’s first request was to meet Desmond’s dad William, the head of the Assassins, and what could be his true purpose will be? There are many questions that the fans and the community as a whole are asking. The good news is that Valhalla DLC is said to make its way pretty soon, but we are saying this based on various rumors, so do take it with a pinch of salt.
