Berries have been in the game for quite some time now. The first berry held an important role for a short period of time. However, quickly became less used each day. Most trainers started to get rid of the berries that flooded their inventories.
When the second generation of Pokemon came into the game, so did 2 new berries. These berries offered double candy and slowed Pokemon down while trying to catch them. As many could imagine. The only berry that holds a use at this point would be the Pinap berry; doubles Pokemon’s candy upon catching.
A little bit a reworking to the gyms also brought a new type of berry. Mostly used now, for legendary Pokemon to increase your odds greatly of catching the beast. However, the Golden Raspberry has become greatly abundant and sadly, is trashed by several trainers.
Not only was a new berry brought into the game during the works of the gyms. However, a new means of using berries was also introduced. You can now feed Pokemon you have placed inside a gym and as long as it’s one of your team members. You can feed their Pokemon as well. Feeding your Pokemon is great in so many different ways, but is tedious for the rewards.
First off, feeding Pokemon berries is primarily used to fill up the defending Pokemon’s motivation bar. This is what determines when the Pokemon returns to you. Once the bar hits zero and another trainer attacks the Pokemon. It will return to its rightful owner. The more known use of feeding Pokemon is to collect stardust and occasionally a candy from the Pokemon being fed.
What if Niantic could add another use for overstocked berries? Well, they could, there are actually a few different way they could go about it. One that comes to mind also helps with the buddy Pokemon. During colder seasons, not many people get out and walk. Not to mention walking you buddy Pokemon has lesser effect now. It’s pretty boring to set a Pokemon as your buddy and only get rewarded for walking it.
Yes, Pokemon GO is meant to get people out and about, but little lazy rewards here and there would be nice too. To be fair, you should be able to feed all of your Pokemon, not just the ones in gyms. Could be wrong, but other Pokemon eat too, right?
Allowing trainers to feed their Pokemon that aren’t defending would be nice. To add a little more to the mix, each Pokemon fed would be given an “experience” bar. Once that Pokemon’s bar has been filled, it will reset, and give trainers a candy before resetting and requiring more points to receive the next bonus.
The thing about Pokemon GO is, it’s meant to be a sort of MMO. Most MMO games have player progression outside of game progression. At the moment. Pokemon GO doesn’t have much outside of gameplay. Trainers don’t have a motive to play because it’s all the same. Giving trainers a prestige effect of gameplay is where most of your player base is now.
If a game doesn’t have player progression, not many people play. Pokemon GO has trainer level, but they are basically meaningless and take years… literally, to complete. If Niantic were to introduce a free for all feeding range. It will give trainers an option to set at home and progressively get rid of their berries while given a small reward.
Niantic Introduce Daily Bonuses To Pokestops
Pokemon Go has released a year and a half ago! At this point in the games life cycle, you would think one of the most important parts of the game would be working properly and have all the tweaks in needs finalized. Though, that isn’t the case. However, it does appear Niantic is changing them daily, or even weekly.
The Pokestops are Pokemon Go’s major features that are used in order to collect items which allows you to “progress” further into the game. When the game was first released. Trainers quickly realized the importance of these stops and request for more if their towns didn’t have plenty.
The loot table for these photospins did have a lot of items until generation 2 came out. Once that happened we saw new barries along with 5 evolution items used to evolve certain Pokemon in the game. Pokestops have been seen to favor items. Sometimes it would last for a day, sometimes it would last longer.
For all we know, Niantic is testing something pretty fun and interesting. Anyone who has played Trove or other games that hold these daily bonuses would know. In Trove, there are set days for certain bonuses. For example every Tuesday, there is a bonus for gathering materials.
This is a feature Niantic could add for Pokestops. Each day could be an increased bonus for certain items which we will go over shortly. Some may not like this, however, knowing that you have a good chance of collecting items you need would be motivating to get out and hit the stops. Continue Reading…
