At the end of the last film, Regan realizes that the high pitch noise that her hearing aid makes is disruptive to aliens. So, as she and her brother Marcus make their escape using it, her dad, Lee, is attacked by a creature that manages to wound him. Seeing this, Marcus tries to distract the creature by placing impulsive gunshots. This does work, but to the dismay of the children, their dad had other ideas. In sign language, Lee tells Regan that he loves her and yells in order to get the creature to attack him. After this, the kids reunite with their mom, Evelyn, who had just had a baby. Regan, who knew the effect of her hearing aid on the creatures, places it close to a nearby microphone. Making use of this knowledge, the family takes down incoming creatures as they shoot them down on their exposed flesh.
What Happened in A Quiet Place Part II?
At the very beginning of the film, we see a flashback to the events of the first film. Here, we see the Abbott family attending their son Marcus’s baseball game. In the middle of the game, a flaming object in the sky is spotted to be descending towards the Earth. Seeing this, the family as well as other spectators, flee away from the baseball park as soon the town is infested by aliens. Aliens who were inherently blind but managed to make their way through their acute sense of hearing. And now, nearly 18 months after the events had occurred, Regan had finally come up with a way to fight back. While, only moments ago, her father, Lee had died trying to protect his children, it was now their time to take the lead.
We continue directly from the end of the previous film as Evelyn, Regan, and Marcus take down the incoming monsters by playing the high pitch frequency. The aliens are vulnerably disoriented on hearing them, during which they expose their flesh in an unprotected part of their head. Shooting at that weak spot is enough to kill the creatures.
Having done so to the waves of creatures that approached their isolated home, Evelyn, Regan, Marcus, and the new baby depart to search for any other human communities. During this, they carry a portable guitar amp and microphone, in order to fend off any incoming danger. In their journey, they approach a home. Here, Marcus gets caught in a bear trap, severely injuring his leg. That’s when they stumble across Lee’s former friend Emmet. He hesitantly helps out the family as he gets Marcus out of the bear trap. After this, Emmett takes the Abbott family to his bunker.
While being in Emmett’s bunker, Marcus and Regan discover that there was a song, “Beyond the Sea”, being played on a loop. On enquiring Emmett on the same, he says that it is nothing. But Regan deduces the origin of the frequency to be a radio tower at a nearby island. Regan then comes up with a mission for herself as she aims to go to the radio tower ad emmit the high-frequency noise to anyone who was tuned in to the radio channel. By doing so, she was hoping to spread a glimmer of hope where humans realize that they can finally fight back for their survival. Marcus, who was gravely injured couldn’t go with her, so he pleads her to not leave. But inevitably so, Regan chooses to venture out on her own to get to the Radio Tower.
Later as Evelyn discovers that Regan had left for the island, she pleads with Emmett to go after her. So, reluctantly, Emmett goes after Regan and finally manages to find her. But instead of taking her back to his place, Emmett hears out Regan’s plan and decides to join her. Now, Emmett and Regan embark on their new mission to the island, the first stop being the dock. Here, they are attacked by humans who have gone feral over time. So, while Regan hides by diving into the Marine, Emmett makes a noise in order to ambush the humans by attracting nearby creatures. Here, one of the creatures even drowns to death as it tries to follow Emmett into the waters. Soon enough, Regan secures a boat, on which they manage to escape to the island to find a colony of people.
Evelyn, Marcus, and the Baby
Back at Emmett’s bunker, Marcus and the newborn baby are left alone by Evelyn as she heads off to gather some medical supplies. During this journey, she has a touching moment at the spot where Lee died. She even leaves her ring in front of his photo. Meanwhile, Marcus leaves the bunker as he heads out to explore the area. But harem, he finds Emmett’s dead wife’s body which startles him. Due to this, he knocks over a few things causing enough sound that some nearby creatures head towards Marcus. So now, Marcus and the baby are trapped inside an airtight bunker as the oxygen level starts depleting. They cannot go out as the creature is there waiting for them to emerge. Soon enough, Evelyn manages to get back to the bunker, as she manages to rescue her children from passing out.
What Happen in ‘A Quiet Place’ Part II Ending?
Back on the island, Regan and Emmett find out that people have been living normal lives. Soon after the National Security finds out that the aliens can’t swim, they took as many people as they can to the island. Meanwhile, an alien back at the coast had managed to come to the island due to a drifting boat. This alien managed to kill the humans on the island while Regan and Emmett head towards the Radio Tower. This creature follows the two as it even manages to slice Emmett’s leg with its claws. But fortunately, Regan is able to play the high-pitched noise through the radio station’s speakers. This has the creature weakened as it exposes its flesh. This allows Regan with enough space to pierce it with a pole.
Elsewhere, Marcus who was tuned in to the frequency, picks up the signal. He then makes use of the signal to play it through a portable radio. This has the creature weekend as it is left vulnerable. Just then, Marcus manages to save his mom and the baby by shooting it on its head. Soon enough, more creatures head towards them, but as Regan keeps the microphone on back at the island, Evelyn and Marcus are able to fight the approaching creatures.
