Today, the film, The Nun from the Conjuring universe has raised a ruckus around town. However, the film did not depend on a “genuine story”, like the other Conjuring films, it is a sort of history for the evil presence that haunted Lorraine, played by Vera Farmiga, in Conjuring 2. The narrative of The Nun rotates around a priest and a novice who is shipped off Romania by the Vatican to examine the demise of a young man. The religious woman was obviously spooky by a satanic element named Valak, who we found in Conjuring 2.

The Nun: Cast

On April 5, 2017, Demián Bichir was cast in the film as a priest exploring a religious woman’s baffling self-destruction. Taissa Farmiga was cast not long after as a Roman Catholic religious woman in her novitiate. Corin Hardy later said that he at first would have rather not cast Farmiga because of her being the sister of The Conjuring star Vera Farmiga, yet altered his perspective when he saw her auditions, “I watched 100 auditions for this job, and she had some sort of presence beyond her own body that is obvious, and she’s phenomenal.” Bonnie Aarons was then set to repeat her job as the “Devil Nun” character Valak from The Conjuring 2. Charlotte Hope, Jonas Bloquet, and Ingrid Bisu were hence announced to star, balancing the main cast.

Where The Nun Is Filmed?

The Main photography for the film started on May 3, 2017, at Castel Film Studios in Bucharest, Romania, with Maxime Alexandre filling in as cinematographer. Movie director Corin Hardy had a Roman Catholic priest favor the set preceding filming. Scenes were shot in the Palace of the Parliament building in June for a charge of €5,000 each hour. Filming additionally occurred at the Corvin Castle in Hunedoara and in Sighișoara, Transylvania.
