Preview and Recap: Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou Season 2

Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou or Arifureta: From commonplace to worlds strongest is an anime released in July 2019 and ran till February 2020. It was directed by Kinji Yoshimoto and written by Soichi Sato and Kinji Yoshimoto himself. It was first a Japanese light novel written by Ruk Shirakome. And it was in print from 2015, before that, originally, it was a web novel. It gained popularity within these formats and later adapted as manga. After which, it was also produced as anime. The anime ended in 2019, and its second season was announced. Arifureta is that kind of anime that was appreciated as a manga and light novel, however, some of its fans did not like the anime adaptation. In the meantime, there are fans who are definitely in love with the anime too.

No matter whether people agree with this anime being awesome or not, they all want another season of it. There was an announcement regarding its production being in the process. But it all came down to the ground when the pandemic hit the world. The maker’s team couldn’t come forward to announce anything afterward. However, they announced that two OVA episodes would be added to the second season, which will be showing some special plots in the story.

A recap to the season one of Arifureta

Hajime Nagumo is a 17-year-old Otaku. He and his friends are sent to a fantasy world. The task for them was to help in saving humanity. Hajime only had a transmutation skill that was; for him of no use, it did not produce any attacking skills. Whereas all his classmates had great powers in them. Their abilities were far more superior than Hajime’s ability.

Hajime’s father was in a gaming company while his mother was shoujo mangaka. In his earlier days or childhood, it was his dream to work in his father’s company or his mother’s workplace. In middle school, Hajime saw an old lady and a kid apologizing to punk for spilling milk over him. At that moment, Hajime unconsciously moved forward to help them and save the kid. The pink was ready to beat the kid. But Hajime knelt down on his knees and asked begged before him. He asked him to leave the kid and old lady alone and let me take the punishment. At that moment, Kaori saw the incident and Hajime’s selflessness. He was a weak student, always late for school, and always sleepyhead. He was always bullied and looked down upon. His friends made fun of him.

Hajime and his classmates steadily move towards completing their tasks, but one of his friends turns against him and betrays him. It was the time in Great Orcus Labyrinth when they were on an expedition of that place. He was thrown in the bottom of the abyss. His misfortune led him to deeper and darker places. He was not able to face horrible monsters. A day came when he couldn’t take it all and decides to fight all the monsters and move forward and leave the abyss. In the meantime, he was introduced to a vampire named Yue. Who was also seeking ways to get out of that place. Hajime and Yue became partners and went out for an adventurous journey. First to become strong, and second to get out of the abyss. He slowly moves step by step while joining many others with him and conquering his powers, and improving his skills. The name of the show actually signifies a lot; Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou, which means Arifureta: From commonplace to world’s strongest!

Release date of Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou Season 2

Season two is highly awaited as the previous one was not up to the mark and did not gain as expected by everyone. The series remained a weak creation as compared to its light novels and manga series. The second season is said to release in the spring of 2021. However, this is not confirmed yet, it could be delayed to Fall 2021. We all have to wait for further announcements.
