In the manga and anime series “Blue Lock,” a group of young soccer players is chosen to take part in a specialized training program designed to become the best striker who would help the Japanese national team win the World Cup.

The series debuted as a manga serial on August 22018’sissue of Weekly Shonen Magazine, and in October 2022, it was adapted into an anime series that began airing.

The term “Blue Lock” refers to the name of the training program in which the 22 Anime Characters Who Can Beat Goku are placed. The program is structured similarly to jail, with participants locked in and forced to compete against one another to become the best striker.

Muneyuki Kaneshiro, a writer, and Yusuke Nomura, an artist, produced the series. Kaneshiro is well known for his work on the manga series “As the Gods Will,” while Nomura has designed characters for a variety of anime series, including “Jujutsu Kaisen” and “The Seven Deadly Sins.”
