Who doesn’t have a secret in life? But have you ever thought of someone entirely too normal turning out actually to be a hidden agent or spy in disguise? No, right? Because stuff like this only happens in movies or dramas. Well, here’s a new one for you.

The latest new K-drama that has begun trending recently is Family: The Unbreakable Bond which premiered on April 17th on the TvN channel. This drama is set on a strange, seemingly perfect family that is about to go through life-changing situations as the drama progresses.

In this Jang Jung Do and Lee Jung Ook directorial, we get to see the main cast of experienced and well-reputed stars who all have a few great works in their bags- Jang Hyuk, Jang Na Ra, Chae Jung An, and Kim Kang Min. This being Jang Hyuk (Red Heart) and Jang Na (Sell Your Haunted House) Ra’s third time to be cast together, fans are eager to see their on-screen chemistry once again.

A secret agent who works for the National Intelligence Service conceals his identity and real job from his family by pretending to be a simple trading company employee. Although Kwon Do Hoon is an expert sniper and a great agent at his secret work, he is far from an ideal husband to his wife, Kang Yoo Ra, who is really patient and committed to their family.

Family: The Unbreakable Bond – Recap

The six members of the household in Family: The Unbreakable Bond comprise the awesome government agent Kwon Do-hoon who is a lousy husband with a big secret, disguised behind the façade of being a blue-collar worker for a trading company.

He is quite meek in front of his wife and often leaves speechless out of fear of her fury. Kang Yoo-ra is a confident, fierce woman who holds the threads of her family firmly in her hands to ensure their disciplined behavior while caring for their well-being and happiness.

Other members of the family include their 8-year-old daughter, Kwon Min Seo; Kwon Woong-soo, Do Hoon’s father and his brother Kwon Ji-hoon with his wife, Lee Mi Rim.

The pilot episode of the show begins with the Black Ops agent, Do Hoon, in action as he performs cool stunts showing off his skill as a sniper and fighter. He gets awfully flustered soon later, as he recalls it being his tenth-wedding anniversary with his wife.

Though he has not been present there during many special moments of his family, something like this is just pushing his wife to her very last limit. Kang Yoo Ra is beyond furious with her husband’s forgetful nature and his absence. She is immovable even when Do Hoon place the blame for his faults on the made-up Manager Oh of the company he supposedly works at.

Poor husband’s efforts to appease his wife’s anger fail miserably due to his clumsiness and incompetency. Lucky him, Yoo Ra agrees to his temporary truce period in which they can work hard together to conceive a second child.
