Popular actress Jennifer Grey rose to huge fame and success after bagging the lead female role in the classic cult 1987 movie Dirty Dancing. In the movie, Jennifer grabbed eyeballs as she played the role of Baby, who starts taking dancing lessons from Johnny, played by Patrick Swayze.

The two eventually fall in love, and the movie is set in motion. Jennifer Grey also starred in yet another classic cult  ‘80s movie: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Given the popularity of the movie Dirty Dancing, it is three decades later that Jennifer Grey will again reprise her role as Frances “Baby” Houseman.

It was later revealed that the upcoming project would cover the next chapter of her character. Grey further revealed that the makers would not try to replicate her love affair with Johnny while respecting Patrick Swayze’s character as the actor passed away in 2009 from pancreatic cancer.

While the Dirty Dancing actress looked unrecognizable after her nose job, Jennifer Grey has opened up about it at a stretch while writing about it in her new memoir, how even though she underwent surgery to change her nose, it admittedly felt like an unforgivable crime.

The actress revealed how she underwent a nose job after her mom suggested it. Grey explained how her mother said that she said how it was getting hard to cast her, and if she wanted to be an actor, then it would be a pragmatic decision to get the nose job done to make casting all the easier for the actress.

Jennifer Grey admitted that although she was completely anti-rhinoplasty as a kid, both of her parents themselves had the procedure done. The actress explained how it was the 50s, and it was important to fit into whatever the group thought.

The actress soon went into a rather purgatory mode and was rather unrecognized with no work. Has written about her loss of identity and wrote that she felt like she was at the beginning, not as a whole person but as a nose.

Jennifer Grey Opens Up About Her Surgery

While the nose job came with its fair share of issues, Jennifer Grey admitted that she was almost thirty back then and had spent much of her adult life trying to love and accept herself as she was and felt like going under the knife felt dangerously close to an admission of defeat.

It was just after a few weeks after she went through the second nose surgery that Grey looked at herself for the first time without the cast and admitted that she could not make sense of what she saw and soon realized that something bad had happened. The actress admittedly felt like she was on mushrooms and as if she had a bad hallucinogenic trip.

Jennifer Grey recalled how during a premiere, iconic actor and director Michael Douglas also could not recognize her, and it was the first time she had gone out in public. Grey admitted that the weird thing was that thing that she had resisted her whole life, and the thing she was so upset with her mother for always telling her that she should get a nose job.

Is Jennifer Grey Married?

Jennifer Grey was earlier married to the famous actor and director Clark Gregg. However, their marital journey came to an unexpected end after nineteen years together. The two resided in Venice, California, and shared a daughter, but they eventually decided to part ways for good.

The two met while working on the Lifetime movie “The Road To Christmas.” After 19 years of togetherness, the pair announced that they were separating in July 2020 after walking down the aisle in July 2001. The divorce was finally finalized on February 16, 2021.
