It opens up with Akane, Urara, and Mayura, who are having a deep conversation regarding the method of how Akane plays the Oiran. Akane-banashi Chapter 48 Recap

Later in the chapter, we see that Akane shows them how she is gonna work from now on while being an Oiran. She says that she tried going on a date in an attempt to understand the Oiran’s mindset, she looked up all the tips on the best ways to entice a man, and they surely did not work.

When she stopped overthinking things and just hung out normally, this was the time she realized that that was really fun, and this was when she got an idea. She finds out that Rakugo and people are the same, and it is all in how you approach them.

We then get a flashback, where Rokuro asks Urara why did he teach Akane the Fetching Tea; she replies that there were two reasons behind her intentions; for one, she wanted to see if she could appraise herself honestly and match an objective view of her strength to the story she is performing. She assigned her that task because she believed that she was capable of it, and seeing as she passed, she took it she met his bar.

Back to the present, Akane reveals that this is all her plan to perform as the Oiran, at least for now, she believes that this is the same way you treat people differently, depending on how long you have known them, and she is sure that as time goes on, she will develop a different view of the OOiran’s mindset, and see things she could see before, which will change her relationship to the story, and how she performs it.

She says that her Fetching Tea is a story she will know personally for years and years to come, or in order words, it will be his friend.

We go back to Urara and Rokuro’s conversation, where Urara says that she can not tell if she is exceptionally smart or exceptionally dense, but she is not opposed to teaching kids like her every now and then and also believes that nothing suits her better than Fetching Tea.
