No Doubt In Us Season 2 Episode 19: Storyline
Season 2, Episode 19 of No Doubt In Us begins by showing Empress Huna reading the book called the ‘Record of The Three Kingdoms.’ She is interrupted by a soldier of the army who enters and bows in front of her. He informs her that General Abuhun is ready and waiting for the Dachen Army to lure the barbarians into the valley and destroy them all.
Empress Huna orders the soldier to leave her alone, but seeing his hesitant actions, she asks him what the issue is. The soldier replies by saying that he met a Han woman on the road when he was coming to the Empress’ house. The woman, who was on a horse, asked him to tell her where Queen Huna resided.
Taking a moment to grasp who this mysterious Han woman is, Huna appears shocked and asks the soldier where the mysterious woman is. Fearing that she was a spy, the soldier deliberately led her to General Abuhun. Huna rushes to General Abuhun’s camp, where she learns that the General is dueling with the woman in the martial arts arena.
When asked why they were dueling, the guards tell her that the woman beat them all in archery, and to save the shame, the General decided to fight her one on one.
Inside the camp, the situation looked tense as the drums were being beaten to signify the beginning of the duel between the General and the Han woman. General Abuhun tells the Han woman that there is still time for her to beg for mercy.
The woman replies by saying that she hurried on her journey to meet Huna and that the General should assist her in meeting the Empress. Annoyed at her arrogance, the General charges toward her but is stopped by Empress Huna.
As Huna starts approaching Xu Yu, the ‘mysterious Han woman,’ Xu Yu stops her and asks her if she is still the same old Huna. The Huna she knew always kept her promises. Xu Yu interrogates Huna by asking her whether Tatar is still allied with Dachen. Huna grins slightly and asks her what she would do if that was not the case anymore. Xu Yu replies by saying that to her, the country comes first.
Even though their friendship was important to her, it could not outweigh the fact that if Huna was against Dachen, then Xu Yu would have no other option but to battle her.
Both of them prepare for battle, which ends up in a thunderous duel between the two. Xu Yu ends up being the victor, after which Huna laughs and says that Tatar did not break its promise to Dachen. Xu Yu is relieved to hear the news but faints.
The scene shifts to Huna taking care of a fatigued Xu Yu. Xu Yu opens her eyes and gets up while Huna gives her some medicine. Disliking the smell, Xu Yu refuses to take medicine, but Huna insists that the Ice and Fire Herb will remove the poison of the Tin-Yang flower from the inside of Xu Yu.
Touching her stomach, Xu Yu tells Huna that she will have it later, to which Huna replies that the medicine is safe to consume for her as well as her baby. It also removes scars, accentuating one’s beauty.
Xu Yu consumes the medicine and asks Huna to treat the other people of Dachen, to which Huna gladly agrees. Huna gives a letter to Xu Yu, which was written to her by her husband. The letter stated that Tatar was assisting the rebellion of barbarians.
The goal was to stabilize the border and maintain friendly trade relations. The letter also requested reinforcements and that Xu Yu did not have to come to Huna personally.
Huna tells Xu Yu that with her talents, she can achieve great things wherever she goes. She asks Xu Yu why a woman of such caliber as she decides to stay in a palace. To Huna, Xu Yu is no ordinary woman, and therefore why does she have to obey her husband and practice the virtues of femininity? Her martial arts would remain futile if she did not leave the palace.
Xu Yu tells Huna that her childhood dream was to fight on the battlefield and serve her country. However, she realized that fighting on the battlefield is not the only way to defend one’s country. As the Empress, she can do much more things than that.
The most important to Xu Yu is that she wants to fight side by side with the person she loves. Realizing that Xu Yu had made up her mind, Huna did not press forward and told her that Xu Yu could always come to her when she faced difficulties. Both of them embrace, and a touching friendship can be felt.
The scene then shows the entry of Xu Yu’s dad, who tells her not to act so impulsively as she is pregnant. Xu Yu’s father then handed Xu Yu a secret decree from the Emperor. Fearing that the Emperor might be angry with her, Xu Yu was hesitant to open the letter.
However, the letter stated that due to the Emperor’s negligence, Xu Yu went to the North Desert all by herself. However, he couldn’t leave the court owing to the political unrest which was brewing. He, therefore, asks the Marshall to take care of Xu Yu.
No Doubt In Us Season 2 Episode 19: Review
No Doubt In Us season 2. episode 19 is a heartfelt and charming episode overall. The thing that I adored the most was the battle scene between Xu Yu and Huna. The battle was very detailed and intriguing to watch as the two friends clashed against each other for the things they protected and cherished the most.
The dynamic friendship they both have is phenomenal, and both of them respect each other. We get to see how caring Huna is towards Xu Yu. She knew that Xu Yu was pregnant and hence made her medicine which would be harmless to her as well as the baby.
She even told her she did not have to come all the way to collect the medicine to save the people of Dachen, as the Emperor himself requested reinforcements.
Another element that I really liked while Xu Yu and Huna were interacting was the empowering aspect. Huna knew Xu Yu’s potential and her excellence in martial arts. She asked her why an extraordinary woman like her obeys her husband and follows the stereotypes of femininity.
Huna herself is an Empress, and she possesses great battle prowess. However, I feel that she is trying to project herself on Xu Yu. However, Xu Yu’s journey and philosophy on life were different. Both women respect each other and understand each other’s decisions, as can be seen when Xu Yu tells Huna that she wants to fight next to the person she loves.
Another thing that I really love is the letter that the Emperor wrote to Xu Yu. He was genuinely worried for Xu Yu and felt helpless, knowing that Xu Yu had left for the North Desert all by herself.
He blames himself for neglecting Xu Yu and asks the Marshall to protect her, which makes Xu Yu very happy. The love they have for each other and the promises they make to each other are some of the elements that I really like about the series.
No Doubt in Us Season 2 Episode 19 is a very touching episode that looks into the depths of one’s responsibility towards their nation, the dynamics of friendship, and the elements of love and protection.
The episode overall is great at attracting its audience towards the politics of the kingdoms, the responsibilities held by people in power, and the importance of patriotic feelings towards one’s country.
Our Rating: ⭐ (4.2/5).
