How And When Did Linda Reagan Die?
The season 8 premiere left all the viewers shocked and shattered at the same time. Episode One, “By Hook or By Crook,” was the end of Linda Reagan’s life on Blue Blood. It made the fans very furious and disappointed in the directors. Her death was very painful for the viewers. She died in a helicopter crash, but what was more shocking is that her demise was not an accident but a pre-planned murder.
In this episode, a surprising drug cartel member who is known for his bad personality Luis Delgado returns. Luis Delgado hints to Linda’s husband, Danny Reagan, “First your home catches fire, and afterward a chopper goes down. That is some quite terrible magic you haul around”, which was very creepy for the viewers.
Even though Linda did not work in the line of duty like her husband, she has encountered death multiple times over the years. First, a mother of two was robbed with a knife. After a coworker’s son was coerced into hitting one of Linda’s patients at the hospital, Linda was shot in another episode. She survived her second shooting.
Her death was so sudden that were no hints in the prior episodes of season seven, and suddenly, she’s in a helicopter crash with no chance of survival. It almost seemed like the director just wrote her story off from the show after being an integral part of the show for so long.
Luis also informs Danny that his wife’s death was not an accident but murder. Her death was planned and executed by the drug-supplying gang. This news makes Danny very angry at himself for not being able to save his wife and the gang who killed her, but it also breaks his heart to know that her wife had to go through so much.
Her death made the whole NYPD investigating team very upset. The viewers also expressed their emotions through Twitter. Of course, the news was earth-shattering for Danny and his family, but this was the twist the show needed to make things spicier and juicier for the viewers.
After the death of Linda, Carlson confirmed through her Instagram post that she’d not be part of the show anymore. Her post says that she’s very grateful for the time she had on the show and her role as a wife, a mother, and a caring nurse. She was happy for her contribution to building the story, and mainly, she was grateful to the fans for all their love and support.
Later with a heavy heart, she reveals that she regrets how her character died on-screen. Linda deserved more respect, and if she had a choice, she would like to change her character’s ending.
