The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 Episode 8: Release Date & How to Watch

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 Episode 8 release date is right around the corner, and fans are pretty excited to know more about the same. Back in the 7th episode, titled No Man’s Land, we saw that Serena is forcing June to take her to some medics because her contractions are getting more and more. June is, of course, being held at gunpoint. With so much pressure on her, June accidentally crashes the car.

In order to help themselves, the two take shelter in a barn nearby. Even though June wants to leave Serena in the barn and leave, she has some sympathy and decides to stay. June helps Serena deliver her baby, whom the latter names Noah. Given the fact that the sun is now setting and the hour is getting late, June suggests that the two go back to Canada. Serena is also getting a fever.

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 Episode 7 Recap

Initially, Serena refuses to go back and wants to die because she thinks she was just a vessel to deliver a child to a deserving mother and her life’s destiny is now over. However, June is not ready to make her give up on her only child and tries to convince her to go to Canada and get help from the hospital.

Ultimately, the two agree to go back, and June calls Moira, who sends Luke to pick them up from the spot. While they are in the hospital, Serena is arrested by the immigration officers who claim that she has entered the country illegally.

As for Noah, he will be placed in child services. Serena cries out loud, begging June to help her before she is sedated and taken out quietly. In the meantime, June goes through a vivid flashback where she dreams about attending the birth of a fellow handmaiden back in America when she was already assigned to the Waterfords.

We see that the fellow handmaiden is getting complications during her heart and is thus forced to do a C-section, where she ends up dead. As for Janine, Alma, and Brianne, they are forced to stay by her dead body and pray.

While the other handmaidens are celebrating the baby’s birth, we see June sharing a notable glance with Serena among other Wives. This was all for the recap of the series and let us now look at the future episodes.
