The first Season of the adult animated series The Legend of Vox Machina was released in Amazon Prime Video on January 2022. Since then, the series fans have been asking for updates on Season 2. For those who are wondering if the series has been renewed for another season, Amazon has officially called the Season for another season, and in this article, we will be covering everything we know about the next Season of Vox Machina, including Vox Machina Season 2 Release Date as well as the cast and what to expect.
Initially, the finds of the episodes in the first Season were gathered through a Kickstarter campaign and while in production before even the release. The series was renewed for another season by Amazon back in 2019. The story of the series takes place in Exandria, a fictional world. The first two episodes of the first Season told us the story of the Vox Machina team at D&D Level 7. The series has taken inspiration from many classic Vox Machina story arcs. The Kickstart for the series was started back in 2019. The cast projected a cost of US$750,000 for a single 22-minute animated episode and was planning for a 45-day campaign.

The Legend of Vox Machina: How it began
The Kickstarter program became a huge success as within an hour after the launch, they were able to gather more than $1,000,000, and within a day, they were able to reach the expected target. By the time the campaign ended, they had gathered more than they initially needed.
Since they were able to gather more than the required amount, they decided to produce the series d, expanding the project into an animated series. When the campaign was officially closed, it was termed as one of the most quickly funded in Kickstarter in the history of Kickstarter. It also became the most funded Kickstarter for TV and film projects.
The Legend of Vox Machina Season 2 release date
Since the series was renewed for a second season even before the first season was released, there might be a chance that we might be able to see updates regarding the second Season this year itself. As of now, Amazon or any others related to the series hasn’t revealed anything regarding the series.
We need to understand that just like other series, animated series also take quite a time to produce, but since the series was renewed for the next season while the production of the first season was taking place, we are hoping that the crew may have already started working on the second Season.
Production for the second season started back in 2019, and it was released this year. If we consider it, we might see official updates by the end of the year, and maybe the official released date for The Legend of Vox Machina will be announced in 2023. We can expect the series to be premiered in the first half of 2023 and can be streamed through Amazon Prime.
The production, like, other shows and movies in the industry, faced hard times during the pandemic, and that may have pushed the release date to a bit longer than initially expected. As for the number of episodes, the first season had a total of twelve episodes. And according to the rumors, we may see two more episodes, making the episodes list fourteen for Season two.
Regarding the season 2 announcement, Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, commented that they were amazed by the level of enthusiasm fans showed for the series from the Kickstarter campaign and has decided to give the fans more with the Second Season.

Who all will be returning for the Second Season of The Legend of Vox Machina Season 2?
Since part of the series is being announced for the Second Season, we don’t have any official information on the series, including Vox Machina Season 2 Release Date. Still, let us look at the cast of the First Season of the series, and if you have watched the first season, you will get an idea of who will be returning for the Second Season.
Laura Bailey stars as Vex’ahlia “Vex” Vessar. She is a member of Vox Machina and also the twin sister of Vax’ildan. Laura is a half-elf ranger and has studied dragons in the hope of eventually finding that one dragon that killed her mother. Whenever a dragon is around, she feels a pain in her head.
Taliesin Jaffe appears as Percival “Percy” Fredrickstein Von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III. Another member in the Vox Machina is also a human. His family was once the rulers of Whitestone, which is currently a city within Tal’Dorei. Taliesin barely escaped alive from the coup d’état led by the Briarwood. He is now on the run to seek vengeance for the murder of his family. Jaffe is also the voice behind Percy’s father, Lord de Rolo.
Ashley Johnson is voicing for Pike Trickfoot, the member of Vox Machina, who is a gnome, and a cleric. Matthew Mercer gave voice for Lord Sylas Briarwood. Sylas become the self-proclaimed caretaker of Whitestone, the home city of Percy. He and his wife were the ones behind the murder of the de Rolo family several years prior.
Matthew also voices for Vex’s bear companion Trinket, the shadow demon Orthax, and some other background characters also. Liam O’Brien voices for Vax’ildan “Vax” Vessar, the member of Vox Machina and the twin brother of Vex’ahlia. His mother was killed by dragons.
Marisha Ray voices for Keyleth of the Air Ashari, another Vox Machina member and a half-elf druid. She also acts as the Ashari trial of leadership. Sam Riegel voices for Scanlan Shorthalt, member of Vox Machina and a gnome bard. Travis Willingham gives voice for Grog Strongjaw, a member of Vox Machina and a goliath barbarian.
We can expect most of the main cast in the first Season to be returning in the series. That way, we can assume that most of the main characters will also make their return in the Second Season. At the same time, it is worth considering that some of the cast also gives voice to multiple characters.
Now let us look at the guest cast who appeared in the previous Season. Stephanie Beatriz as Lady Kima of Vord, member of the Tal’Dorei Council. Khary Payton as Sovereign Uriel Tal’Dorei, ruler of the Tal’Dorei kingdom. David Tennant as General Krieg, member of the Tal’Dorei Council.
General Krieg is the one who leads the military of the Tal’Dorei military and is secretly the evil blue dragon Brimscythe. Indira Varma for Lady Allura Vysoren, member of the Tal’Dorei Council. Grey Griffin for Delilah Briarwoodhe, ruler of the Whitestone, alongside her husband, Sylas.
They were able to seize power after the violently overthrew of the de Rolo family. Deliah has necromantic abilities granted to her by her patron. Sunil Malhotra as Shaun Gilmore, owner of the magical shop Gilmore’s Glorious Goods. He is also a friend with the Vox Machina, specifically Vax.
Eugene Byrd as Jarrett Howarth, captain of the Arms of Emon. Darin De Paul for Kerrion Stonefell, captain of the Briarwood guard in Whitestone. Rory McCann as Duke Vedmire Briarwoods’ Goliath enforcer. Stephen Root as Professor Anders, who was Percy’s former tutor and is currently in league with the Briarwood.
Dominic Monaghan for Archibald Desnay, a Whitestone rebel leader and a childhood friend of Percy. Gina Torres as Keeper Yennen, a religious leader in Whitestone who also supports the rebellion secretly. Esmé Creed-Miles as Cassandra de Rolo Percy’s sister. Tracie Thoms as the Everlight, the goddess of healing and Pike’s patron deity
KellyHu is Dr. Anna Ripley, one of Percy’s family’s murderers. While there is a higher chance that the main cast of the series to make a return if things go well, it is not the case for the guest cast, as that’s the purpose of them. They may only come once in a while and may only appear for one Season. We need to wait until the Vox Machina Season 2 Release to know who all have returned.
The Legend of Vox Machina Season 2 plot
The series is an adaptation of Critical Role in the first Dungeons and Dragons campaign. In the first Season, we saw we’re left with a fairly shocking cliffhanger, where we see the outcome in the next Season. After being brought before King Uriel Tal’Dorei, the ruler of the Tal’Dorei Empire, Vox Machina was shocked about the discovery regarding Uriel’s abdication on the throne. We are not into spoiling much of the first Season for those who haven’t watched the first Season yet.
