The Kpop industry is the new center of attraction. In recent years, many new kpop groups have debuted. The new group has come out promising, attracting many individuals.
LIGHTSUM is the new kpop girl group that debuted on the 10th of June in 2021 with Cube Entertainment. It is a six-member group consisting of Sangah, Chowon, Nayoung, Hina, Juhyeon, and Yujeong. It was originally an 8-member group that debuted with the single album ‘Vanilla.’ Huiyeon and Jian left the group in October 2022.
The name LIGHTSUM is an amalgamation of two words, ‘light’ and ‘sum.’ The deeper meaning of the name is “things that shine small gather together to light up the world, delivering greater positive energy through a message of hope.”

Juhyeon
Lee Ju Hyeon, known by her stage name Juhyeon was born on the 8th of April in 2004. She is the Leader of the group and also the Main Dancer, Lead Vocalist. She was born in Seoul, South Korea.
She was the youngest participant in the show The Unit. She joined Cube Entertainment in 2014 and was a trainee with the company for 7 years. She is well known for her dancing skills. She was the second member to be revealed.
Sangah
Yoon Sang Ah, was born on the 4th of September in the year 2002. She is known by her stage name Sangah. She is the Lead Dancer and Rapper of the group. She was born in Ganseok-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon, South Korea.
She is a participant in the Mnet reality survival show Queendom Puzzle. She passed the first round of about 15 entertainment companies. She was the first member to be revealed.
Chowan
Han Cho Won is also known by her stage name Chowon or by her catholic name Sophia. She was born on the 16th of September in 2002 and was born in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, South Korea. She is the Main Vocalist of the group.
She was a contestant in PRODUCE 48 and was placed 13th due to the manipulation scandal. She was a trainee for 1 year and 10 months before joining PRODUCE 48. She was the third member to be revealed.
Nayoung
Kim Na Young, Main Vocalist, Lead Dancer, and Center of the group. Nayoung was born on the 30th of November in 2002 in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do, South Korea. She is a graduate of Seoul Performing Arts High School.
She was a contestant in PRODUCER 48 and was a trainee for 1 year and 7 months before joining the same. She was a trainee under Banana Culture and New Kid. She has given guest appearances in kdramas. She was the 5th contestant to be revealed.
Hina
Nagai Hina was born on the 7th of April 2003 in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. She attended the MARU dance studio and knew how to do ballet. She was the 7th member to be revealed.
Yujeong
Lee Yu Jeong is the current maknae of the group. She was born on the 14th of June in the year 2004 in Seoul, South Korea. She is a sub-vocalist of the group. She graduated from Seoul Performing Arts High School (Department of Theater and Film). She was the 8th member to be revealed.
She was also a contestant on Produce 48 and trained for 6 months before joining the same. She was a former trainee at the following entertainment agencies: Stardom Entertainment, Fantagio Entertainment, and CNC School.

Oh Hui Yeon, born on the 1st of August, 2005, was the sub-vocalist of the group. She was the 6th member to be revealed. She left Cube Entertainment on the 25th of October, 2022.
Jian
Kim Ji An, former maknae of the group. Born on the 4th of November 2006 was the Sub Vocalist and Rapper of the group. She was the 4th member to be revealed. She was a former JYP trainee. She left Cube Entertainment on the 25th of October, 2022.
Debut
The girl group LIGHTSUM debuted on the 10th of June in 2021 with their debut single album ‘Vanilla.’ They were formally 8 members at the time of debut Sangah, Chowon, Nayoung, Hina, Juhyeon, Jian, Huiyeon, and Yujeong. Later in 2022, Huiyeon and Jian left the group.
