The Witcher tv series is pretty popular, and it is without a doubt one of Netflix’s most popular series. The streaming giants aren’t just stopping there as they are working on an anime film of the franchise and its name has already been revealed, which is The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. The studio that will be working on it has already been revealed as it is the animation studio behind The Legend of Korra.

A tweet from one of Netflix’s accounts revealed a few details about the story which will on a new threat facing the continent. The official tweet reads: The rumors are true, a new Witcher story is in the works! The anime film, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, will take us back to a new threat facing the Continent. The Witcher Animated Film Details
The production of the anime movie will be handled by The Witcher showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich and writer Beau DeMayo. But there hasn’t been news on whether or not Henry Cavill will be voicing the role of Geralt or not. The anime studio that will be handling this will be Studio Mir which is a South Korean animation studio known for the Nickelodeon hit The Legend of Korra, has previously worked with Netflix on Voltron: Legendary Defender.

Furthermore, the streaming giants have stated that they are happy with the success of The Witcher, calling it a massive new franchise thanks to a big performance in 2019. Moreover, Hissrich said on Twitter that she’s been keeping the anime film a secret for over a year, this shows that it was in production long before Netflix knew what it had a hit on its hands.
