Almost all movie watchers love animals when it comes to movies, and it is easy to see why such is the case. As soon as these characters appear on the screen, they have this aura in them that they light up the screen and the audience, specifically when they are the main protagonist of the story.

Viewers prefer an animal movie with a good plot, message, and engaging story along with on-screen characters, and some of the movies on this list have managed to get thing IMDb scores. Viewers of all age groups can find these classic animal movies to watch again and again with their kids.
These movies are timeless as they have a good protagonist, a story, and a core message that they deliver through the movie. I am sure they will like these movies and have a good time, and they will also respect the importance of this precious life in all forms.

DC League of Superpets
League of Superpets was released in 2022, and you will see the pets of the major DC superheroes. If you are a fan of DC characters, you should definitely have a look at this movie.
The Justice League is captured by Lex Luthor, and now it is superman’s pet Krypto who has taken it upon himself to save his owner and other heroes as well. He cannot possibly do this alone, so he takes help from some animals from shelters, and each of them has a unique superpower.

Krypto
I loved this movie. The pace was rapid, the animation was good, and the animals and superheroes were voiced by some big names like Dwayne Johnson as Krypto, Kevin Hart as Ace, John Krasinski as Superman, Keanu Reeves as Batman, Diego Luna as Chip, and many others. All of the voice actors did a good job and made the experience worthwhile. You should have a look at this movie along with your kids.

Up
Up was released in 2009, but if you are a core fan, you would recognize this dog before even looking at him in the movie. Dug made his first appearance in Ratatouille in 2007.
Animals have been converted into humans in a lot of movies, but very few of them have been able to speak like an animal while still maintaining their core nature and personality.
Dug is one of those characters, and he is a recognizable dog whose contagious joy and unexpected complexity elevate the second half of the movie to levels almost equal to that spectacular beginning.

Dug
The delightful DVD short Dug’s Special Mission goes into more detail about the dog’s past, but it really all happens on screen as the dog’s good nature competes with his insecurities and unhappiness under his old pack, his joy upon meeting Russell and Carl, and the numerous distractions of life as a dog. Undeniably, Dug is the best dog in the list of animals and pets in all the movies.
The animation makes him so cut, and the man behind this dog is Bob Peterson. The character of Dug was so adored by everyone that he even got his own TV show, ‘Dug Days,’ that came out in 2021. The show focuses on Dug, and Carl, played by Edward Asner, and their adventures or rather misadventures in their daily lives.

The Adventures Of Milo & Otis
Milo & Otis, which is still among the most enduringly remembered animal-focused movies of 1980, offers plenty of cuteness and a touching narrative.
It was released in 1986, and the movie is narrated by Arthur actor Dudley Moore; it is about a “pug dog and a curious cat” who gets separated and go on the hunt for one another. Both the kitten and the puppy develop into adults along the road, suffering some significant setbacks.

The Adventures Of Milo & Otis
The movie’s sole drawbacks are claims that animals were abused while being filmed, none of which have been thoroughly substantiated yet. A negative cloud hangs over an otherwise terrific movie. If you ignore this negative fact about the movie, it is a good watch.
All these claims have not been proven, so they are not completely true. So you can have a look at this movie as it is streaming on IMDb TV. This was well received by the audience, and it has a good core message, so it is still watched by viewers all around.

Lady And The Tramp
Lady And The Tramp, a timeless love story combined with some of Disney’s greatest animation work, is unquestionably one of the studio’s most cherished animated masterpieces.
This was released in 1955, and I am sure if you have not yet watched this movie, then you must have seen the noodle and meatball supper scene somewhere, and it was worth the cost of admission on its own and has since become a brand of popular culture.

Lady And The Tramp
Two dogs living very different lifestyles meet, go on experiences together and fall in love throughout the course of the story in this timeless tale of love on the wrong side of the tracks. It combines comedy, excitement, memories, and romance into one package.
This movie caters to an audience of every age group, o matter you are an adult, a kid, an adolescent, or someone who is in their late fifties. There is something for everyone in this movie, and it is an evergreen movie. It was released in 1955, and still, there are references from this movie and clips on social media platforms.
The data is insufficient to judge if this movie was well received or not, but still, you should definitely watch this movie. It is still a nice movie with good animation and an everlasting message behind it.

Bambi
Dinosaurs have always been a talking factor in Hollywood, even before 1993. But in 1993, when the first Jurrasic Park movie was released, it changed the game of good. The best Jurrasic Park movie was by Steven Speilberg and was adapted from the novel of the same name written by Micahel Crichton.
The movie had the same base, it featured a theme park full of different animals, and with those animals, dinosaurs were also seen. Spielberg’s mix of early CGI and animal physics helped bring the dinosaurs into live-action movies from an unseen and totally new perspective.

Jurassic Park
Audiences couldn’t get enough of witnessing Earth’s primitive people devour helpless human victims; it was exhilarating, overpowering, and draining in the greatest manner conceivable.
The series got so famous that after the first movie, many other installments were released. The cameos of Dinosaurs were also seen in other movies and in some of the animated movies and shows as well. The latest Jurrasic Park movie was Jurrasic World Dominion which was released in 2022, starring Chris Patt, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, and Bryce Dallas Howard as the main protagonists.
All of the Jurrasic Park movies are available on HBO. You may or may not like the movie given where you are coming from. If you have just started watching these movies, then you will find them entertaining, but if you have been following the franchise from the start, you may not prefer the direction in which the Jurrasic Park franchise is heading.

The Lion King
The Lion King came out in 1994, and it is solid evidence that no matter how good Pixar’s CGI is, it cannot replace the timeless hand-crafted animations. Disney’s live-action recreation of the Simba and Mufasa narrative was released in 2019, but it was welcomed less enthusiastically than the original 1994 movie.

The Lion King
The Lion King served as somewhat of a farewell for Disney’s classic animation method before turning its attention to CGI. It was one of the pivotal movies of the 1990s and has continued to be an unstoppable success for Disney to this day.
The characters of Mufasa and Simba, portrayed by James Earl Jones and Matthew Broderick, were the main reason why everyone who watched this movie fell in love with it. It is a classic movie and is one of the best-animated movies ever made.
The storyline was well set up for the young lion, and the whole plot was encouraging and enticing to the general audience. Even though a remake has been released but still the core audience still loves the 1994 movie.
The movie was a hit and was well-received among the viewers. If you have watched the 2009 movie, then I suggest you have a look at the original 1994 movie. If you have not watched anything, then you should definitely watch the 1994 movie first.

Fantasia
Mickey Mouse is the most well-known cartoon of all time and needs no introduction of any sort. Mickey Mouse has never been a prominent figure in full-blown animation, and his finest performance came in a little section of the bizarre Fantasia classical music film, which was released in 1940, yes 82 years ago.
He is a fantastic sorcerer’s overzealous but undisciplined servant who attempts to take a shortcut while his master is away, and he manages to get plenty of magical mop floods in his home.

Fantasia
The lesson of the story is to always perform your work well and with pride and to avoid ever cleaning your house since it will only produce problems. Mickey mouse is generations old. Even our fathers and forefather have seen it somewhere.
The fact that Disney has managed to keep him alive still today in 2023 is crazy. The character Mickey Mouse has been liked by all generations, and he has been seen in a lot of movies and tv shows since its inception. The first time Mickey Mouse was seen was in 1928 in Steamboat Willie. The iconic voice behind the character is of none other than Walt Disney himself.

Ratatouille
The Pixar films directed by Brad Bird have a more nuanced moral than the typical animated film because they are ready to acknowledge that not everyone will grow up to be a princess or a hero and that some individuals just have more skill than others.
Here, Remy, voiced by Patton Oswalt, is a prodigy in the kitchen, but it’s not always simple for him to advance. Rats and kitchens do not, after all, make the best of hygienic partners. Even if he’s not always fully sympathetic, his preoccupation with his chosen career and will to succeed makes him interesting.

Ratatouille
The sense of humor is more alive, sophisticated, and entertaining than any other PG-13 movie out there. Of course, it is an animated movie, but it is very human-like in many ways. It is picturized really well and supplies a constant pleasure, just what you expect from a Pixar movie.
The makers of the movie from the house have handled all the elements like visuals, animations, comedy, timing, and the aura of the characters in an adorable manner. I recommend this movie if you love cooking and eating food. It is available to stream on Apple TV, and it has the potential to change the general thought process related to rats, kitchens, and hygiene.

Kung Fu Panda
It takes a very deft touch to take a revered martial arts master, the archetype that served as the model for Yoda from Star Wars, Mr. Miyagi from Karate Kid, and others, and modernize him while meeting all the expectations previously attached to the personality.
Hoffman’s playfully inserted the required warmth behind the boldness and a new teacher-student sparkle between him and Po make Shifu, the kung fu teacher who trains Jack Black’s Po to be all that he can be in DreamWorks’ surprisingly delightful adventure, Kung Fu Panda.

Shifu
Shifu’s character was voiced by Dustin Hoffman. He did a great job in bringing the character alive and making it a major essence of the Kung Fu Panda series. Other than him, there were many animal characters who were in the movie, and each of them had a special presence and combat skills in the movie.
The Kung Fu Panda franchise has three installments, and besides these three movies, there have been other movies and shows (Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight) revolving around the protagonist of the movie Po the Panda.

Monsters Inc
Suppose we talk about Monsters Inc., which was released in 2001. One can argue that Boo is possibly the cutest child in cinematic history. Sulley is the adorable beast on wheels, played by John Goodman.
Or possibly Roz, the first example of Bob Petersen’s versatility outside of his employment as a microphone operator. But the genuine, spontaneous levity and humanity of Mike Wazowski, played by Billy Crystal, come close to winning.

Mike Wazowski
The crazy wackiness of Wazowski serves as the ideal complement to Sulley’s dark personality. He is endearingly clueless and has a casual attitude regarding paperwork, and he is a funny character.
The character of Mike Wazowski is lovable and one of those characters that are easy to recognize in the ocean of animated characters. It looks like an alien but a cute alien.
The animators did a fantastic job in designing the character and making them alive in the movie. The movie was also well-received and was followed by a second installment, Monsters University, which was released in 2013, and the major actors made a return.
- Released in: 2001
- IMDB Score: 8.1
- Streaming Platform: Amazon Prime Videos
Puss In Boots
Puss In Boots was released in 2011, but you will be surprised to know that the character of Puss, voiced by Antonio Banderas, first made its appearance in Shrek 2 in 2004.
A major drawback of the Shrek movies is how dull the title character has always been and how much the colorful supporting cast constantly overshadows him.
Puss in Boots gave Shrek 2 a needed boost just as Shrek and Donkey’s banter was starting to become stale by brilliantly recreating Zorro’s swashbuckling appeal and putting it into the body of a cat that is almost as tall as the boots he wears.

Puss In Boots
Puss is more than deserving of his own spin-off due to his devotion, his indomitability in the face of tremendous odds, his great self-confidence, and his capacity to make his eyes as wide as Lazy Susans, all of which are spoken to perfection by Banderas.
Puss got his movie in 2011, and boy-o-boy was a crazy fun experience in the movie. The animation, the wild west setup, the sword, the voice-over, and so many other things make it a fun watch.
It was very well received, and as a result, after 12 years, there is a second installment of the movie Puss In Boots: The Last Wish, which has just been released in 2022. Personally, I loved the first movie and had a lot of laughs, so I recommend this movie.

The Jungle Book
The Jungle Book was released in 1967, but the character of Baloo made its first appearance in a Rudyard Kipling novel, The Jungle Book, in 1894. When you hear or see a bear, you get instantly frightened that it may tear you apart, and it is very true, but Baloo is the bear who takes Mowgli under his wing and teaches him what’s what and who’s who in The Jungle Book franchise.

Baloo
He is the kind of animal that can restore bears’ reputations after the tragic incident. Baloo is a carefree grifter and grinder who is lovable, cheerful, and full of folk wisdom.
Although he occasionally associates with the shadowier animals the jungle has to offer, it’s difficult not to warm to him. And it almost tears your heart out as he lies face down in that enormous puddle.
The character Baloo was voiced by Phil Harris. All the leads in the movie were so much adored by the audience that a second installment was later released in 2003. I have seen both movies, and it is a subtle and sweet experience.
The kid in you will love the chemistry between Mowgli and Babloo and will get a little frightened when you see Bagheera. The animation is good, and the movie and all the characters in the movie are timeless. A remake was also released in 2016 with the same name.
- Released in: 1967
- IMDB Score: 7.6
- Streaming Platforms: Amazon Prime Video and Hotstar
The Secret Life Of Pets
The movie came out in 2016, and later a second part was released in 2019. The theme in The Secret Life of Pets is very close to Toy Story from Pixar. The dynamic between the characters, pets, and toys, along with the kids and owners in the rivalry setup, is something that we have seen in the aforementioned. Some viewers may find this movie silly, but it was a good watch.
It does a good job in action scenes, representation of jokes, raw comedy, and silliness. It is the story of a terrier and his hairy roommate and a villainous rabbit who doesn’t like humans.
The movie is funny and perfect for kids. The voice of snowball was given by Kevin Hart, and Max’s voice was given by Louis C.K. The movie was very were received, and later, The Secret Life Of Pets 2 was also released.
- Released in: 2016
- IMDB Score: 6.5
- Streaming Platforms: Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and Apple TV
Madagascar Franchise
I am sure at some point in life, and you must have heard this song, “I Like to Move It, Move It.” This song was first seen in Madagascar in 2005. The story is focused on four animals. A lion named Alex, voiced by Ben Stiller, a zebra named Marty, voiced by Chris Rock, and a hippo named Gloria, voiced by Jada Pinkett Smith.
And a zebra named Melman, voiced by David Schwimmer. All these four animals somehow manage to escape from the New York Central Zoo with the help of some Penguins, and as the story progresses, all of them find themselves in Madagascar.

Madagascar
It is a good watch for the fans, and it is exciting, funny, and heartwarming. The animation is good; you will love the fast-paced scenes, the timing of the jokes is on point, and the setup compliments the animals really well. All the voice actors did a fantastic job and made the characters funny and loveable.
The movie got very famous and got two installments that were released, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa which was released in 2008, and Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted, which was released in 2012. The penguins that helped in escaping the animals also got their own movie, Penguins of Madagascar, which was released in 2014.
