Last of Us fans, we have a great news for you all guys. The game is now getting a big update, as the fans will be able to get a TV show based on the game from a whole different perspective. Craig Mazin, who is the guy behind Chernobyl that has bren critically acclaimed and has won the hearts of people, will be working with HBO to make a new series come out based on Last of Us game series, which adds to a whole bunch of new developments happening about adapting games to TV shows.
Not just Craig Mazin, we will be seeing Neil Druckman also working with him in this project, who is the writer and the creative mind of the amazing game. It is supposed to be a series as of now, so we can expect multiple seasons of the show rather than just a one go season! Thus, it makes it even cooler.
This is not going to be a regular collaboration, as HBO is taking no chances of leaving behind any creative mind of this majestic game. The game was developed by Naughty Dog, which is a developing firm from Santa Monica. The president of Naughty Dog, Evan Wells will also be working on this new adaptation series, also Carolyn Strauss, famous for Deadwood: The Movie and is a television executive and producer. Here is the official Tweet from HBO which suggests that they are working on the new show!

The game has gone through a lot of commitments, such as a movie adaptation, but none of that worked. However, this would be a big update to see the characters of the game on a TV screen! It would be interesting to see how well do they depict the characters and the storyline, as the game has a huge and loyal fanbase who are closely monitoring all the developments.
HBO Last of Us Season 1 Release Date
While the show has recently been announced, it will take a considerable time before coming out to the audience. Also, this is a big show, so HBO will not rush it. Thus, we expect HBO’s Last of Us season 1 to release in Early 2021, and not before that. However, end of 2020 might stand a chance, but we are not holding our breath for it.
